Foxpaw's Assessment

Kestrelstorm was one happy tom right now. He had watched Foxpaw grow from firsthand. He was a bubbly kit when he had first met the younger tom, and now he was a fine warrior. Foxpaw had been his passion since he lost the chance to be deputy, so he wasn't sure what he would do once Foxpaw was a warrior, but that was no reason to not give him a name.

It was a warmer morning when Kestrelstorm nudged Foxpaw awake. "Want to go have your assessment?" he questioned the young tom blinking up at him.

Foxpaw's ears perked up at Kestrelstorm's voice, "Do I ever!" He called, an assessment means he would get his warriors name! Foxpaw was ambitious and ready, he desperately wanted to follow in his mentors footsteps and was sure that one day Kestrelstorm would become deputy.

Perhaps subconsciously, Kestrelstorm had indoctrinated his apprentice with his ambition, in both the sense of ambition in general and Kestrelstorm's own personal goals. No matter; it was working for the pair. With a purr, Kestrelstorm left the den and gave time for Foxpaw to straighten his pelt and get a bite to eat.

Foxpaw licked clean the bones of a rabbit and let out a purr, "Are we going to set off now?" He asked with anticipation but Foxpaw felt nervous too, what if he wasn't good enough?The thought rushed through his brain but he tried to shake it off as best as he could.

Kestrelstorm nodded and trotted to the entrance. Once they were in the territory, he turned to Foxpaw. "Please bring me back three pieces of prey. I will be watching, remember."

OOC: Sure thing, I might kind of seem a little ver powered but we should end this soon

Foxpaw stared sniffing around the Windclan territory, prey was all around him, he glanced at a tree and noticed a small bird fluttering down from it, he has never caught a bird before this was his chance!
He crouched down as the bird started pecking at the ground, Foxpaw's legs left the ground and his body propelled into the air as he knew the bird would fly, as he did so the small blue and black bird flew off but with its long feathers got caught in the apprentices paws. One bite to the neck and it was all over, Foxpaw had caught the bird!

Kestrelstorm watched carefully as his apprentice made a great catch. Only two more pieces to go. he thought to himself.

Foxpaw was putting lots of energy into every little piece of prey he could find. Although the second attempt failed when he tried to reach the birds eggs, he smelt the familiar scent of a rabbit which were common around these areas, a whole herd of them surrounded Foxpaw but didn't even notice the cat. All within seconds he has crouched down, aimed and times his attack before his claws reached the back of a plump rabbit which had no chance beyond this point. The second piece of prey was caught.

Kestrelstorm nodded, silently congratulating his apprentice for his catch. While he had made much more of a show when he was apprentice, the catch was still a good catch.

OOC: Sorry this is coimg to be kind of a rediculous catch but I just thought it would be funny in his attemplt to impress you XD

Foxpaw nodded back, and continued to hunt some prey. Foxpaw had noticed a small mouse along the territory but he wanted to try and impress his mentor more. A high tree in front of Foxpaw with smaller trees following it and a large feathered bird on top. "I'll try get it, I can get it." He said to himself aloud. Foxpaw readied his hind legs and made sure his front paws would be light as a feather so no sound was heard, he lept up clawing the bark to kept him up, the bird now knew of his presence and immediately flew and in Foxpaw's final attempt, he jumped. Claws unsheltered and only a rabbits lengths away he clawed at the large bird's tail pulling it down with the his weight and quickly bit its neck, luckily the bird had flown down quite far and the small shrub trees cushioned his fall so no damage was done. "I did it? I don't think i'm going that again anytime soon!" He chuckled as he padded towards his mentor with the haul of prey. "That last catch was a little out of control but look at the size of this thing!" Foxpaw continued smiling happily.

Kestrelstorm beamed. His apprentice made a catch just like he did during his assessment! With a purr he strode up and congratulated his favorite cat. "Now all we have to do is see your battle moves."

Foxpaw turned to Kestrelstorm grinning happily, "Alright is there a certain move you want me to do or just free fighting?" He asked remembering all the attacks he knew.

"Free dighting will work just fine." He said, looking up to where they usually trained for fighting. "Let's go to the hollow." With a grunt he took off up the hill. When they got there, he crouched, letting Foxpaw know he was ready. "Claws sheathed." He reminded dutifully.

Foxpaw unsheathed his claw, ready to fight.

Foxpaw used Front Paw Strike. (No damage as assesment unless you want)
