Hey Gentlepaw! continuing (closed for Skia)

Thinstripe had spotted a vole and was creeping up on it, when she had gotten close to it she waited for time to pass and pounce on it. When it was the perfect moment she pounced up and swiftly bite it on its neck. She dropped it in front of Gentlepaw and began to dig a hole for it, when she finished digging the hole she grabbed the vole and dropped it in. She stood up and looked at Gentlepaw "now what can you smell?"

Gentlepaw lifted her nose to the air, breathing in the scents of the forest. At first, the many scents overwhelmed her, but they became clearer as she attempted to sort through them. The scent of leaves and dirt was all she could make out, but then she noticed fainter scents. Thunderclan cats who had passed by a few days ago; the even more stale scent of squirrel; and fresh mouse scent! Gentlepaw crouched down, recalling what Thinstripe had taught her as a kit. She prowled forwards, and found the mouse. It was hiding between the roots of a nearby tree, nibbling on a seed. Gentlepaw pounced, missing the rodent by a whisker. It squeaked, terrified, and Gentlepaw panicked. She slammed her paw down on it's tail, and sloppily cut off it's noisy screeches with a bite to the neck. "I probably scared all the other prey off, huh?" she looked back up at Thinstripe with a sheepish grin.

"It depends on what you scented" Thinstripe's whiskers twitched with amusement as she asked the question

Gentlepaw scented the air again, though this time her nose was blocked with mouse scent. "I think there's a vole or maybe a squirrel still around?" she sighed, then shook her head. "I don't know, all I can smell is this mouse..." she began digging a small hole as she finished speaking. "Maybe we could try another spot in the forest?" she asked, shoving the mouse in the hole and covering it back up.

Thinstripe nodded "How about over in that clear spot where those trees are, that looks good" she undug he hole she had put her kill in a took it that she padded over, she dropped her vole and sat down "I have a small question for you" she stood back up and this time held still

Gentlepaw nodded, and was about to pad over to the spot Thinstripe had pointed out, but the warrior suddenly spoke again. Gentlepaw looked to Thinstripe, her eyes brimmed with curiosity. What could she want to talk about? "Yeah, Thinstripe?" she seemed almost hesitant.

"I was thinking you could do a test with me, its one where you fight someone but don't hurt them you just test your skill," her eyes sparkled with happiness "But keep your claw sheathed" she reminded her "You don't want to hurt me, and I wont hurt you either"

Gentlepaw frowned at the prospect. "I don't know... Darkkflight hasn't taught me any battle moves yet... I should probably wait for her training... She is my mentor after all..." Gentlepaw didn't want to hurt Thinstripes feelings, but she really didn't want to do any fighting yet. She was just apprenticed, after all!

Thinstripe still looked happy her feelings weren't hurt "I wasn't trained at all and I still can fight and hunt, don't worry even if you get trained by he she will be surprised on how much you have already learned". She ignored what Gentlepaw said and tumbled into her

Gentlepaw's worried expression didn't disappear as Thinstripe replied. "I-" her words broke into a startled gasp as Thinstripe tumbled onto her. "Hey!" she mewed, trying to push Thinstripe off.

Thinstripe kept her pinned to the ground and pawed at her to distract her

"Get off, you lousy furball!" Gentlepaw yowled, a hint of playfulness shining through.

Thinstripe was thrown off and skidded to a halt of the dusty ground, she stepped back and quickly climb up a tree only to jump down again and land in front of Gentlepaw "Alright you mousebrained fool!" she mewed playfully she jumped onto her back and held on tight

Mousebrained fool? That's a little harsh isn't it? Gentlepaw yelped in surprise as the heavy warrior landed on top of her. She immediately crumpled to the ground and rolled over, hoping Thinestripe would get off.

Thinstripe let go and stood up shaking the dust and twigs off her fur "Ok are you ready for real this time?"
