Tigerkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to capture their own prey gather underneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!" Thrushstar yowled.

Tigerkit padded into the clearing from the nursery at a relaxed pace. She'd been ill lately, what with the cold weather and prey shortage, but this sort of thing was all she'd known since her birth. Her brother and sister were already apprentices and she was determined to catch up to them and please her parents. The tabby sat in the center of the clearing and looked up at Thrushstar, her green eyes a mirror image of her father's.

Leopardfang watched from the side. Tigerkit's temperament was different than those of Webpaw and Viperpaw, and he only hoped she was as promising as the two of them had been. Still, if she had any of her parents in her, she would be a fit warrior of ShadowClan in the future.

Webpaw purred as he looked at his sister, he hoped they got to hunt together. The silver tom padded closer, watching her with amusement at her relaxed demeanor. His whiskers twitched at the memory of his own ceremony and how he had barely managed to stride from the nursery. Webpaw sat with Leopardfang and gazed at his sister.

"Tonight we gather to make this kit an apprentice," Thrushstar said. "Tigerkit, from now on until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Tigerpaw. Your mentor will be Redwhisker. May he teach you everything he knows."
