Russetkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to capture their own prey gather underneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!" Thrushstar yowled.

RussetKit chimed 'today is the day!' he thought excitedly, the kit scrambled out of the nursery and out towards the Jaggedrock

"Tonight we gather to make this kit an apprentice," Thrushstar said, looking down at Russetkit. "Russetkit, from today until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Russetpaw. Your mentor will be Magpiewing. May he teach you everything he knows." With that, the leader leaped down to let the rest of the clan finish the ceremony.

Mudfoot sat in the crowd of cats, beaming with pride. His son was now an apprentice and he was so happy that his father was able to mentor him. The tom smiled and chanted Russetpaw's name.

RussetPaw gleamed with excitment, he would finally get to go out of camp with wildpaw just like he had said the few days before! He glanced over to his adopted father, also smiling with pride.
