Redpaw's Warrior Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to capture their own prey gather underneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!" Thrushstar yowled.

Redpaw had been licking the last juices of a scrumptious frog off of his paws when he'd heard the familiar voice of his grandfather echo throughout the clearing. The tom perked his ears and glanced over, pulling himself off of his feet and padding forward, looking around for any sight of his brother or his mentor. 'What could this be about?' He wondered.

"Tonight we gather to make this apprentice a warrior," Thrushstar said, looking down at Redpaw. "Redpaw, please step forward."

Redpaw's eyes grew wide in surprise and suddenly felt a little weak in the knees, yet he still manage to hold his head up high as he padded forward to the front of the clearing.

He watched the apprentice carefully. "Redpaw, do you promise to serve and protect this clan, as well as uphold the warrior code, even at the cost of your life?" He asked.

He could feel the hairs standing up on the back of his neck, yet thankfully his voice didn't break as he spoke. "I do."

He studied Redpaw intently for a moment, creating an awkward silence that hung in the air. However, after just a moment, he continued to speak. "Then by the powers of Starclan, I grant you your warrior name. Redpaw from now on, you will be known as Redwhisker. We welcome you as a full warrior of Shadowclan."
