Where am I?

Winterkit felt scared and unfamiliar. He swiftly looked over after hearing paw steps coming towards him.

"What are you doing here young kit? You really shouldn't be here." Lowly growled a she-cat, her voice low as she approached the small kitten. Face contorted into a frown, she looked young but the way she carried herself gave away how old she felt. Sitting down in front of the kitten with a large bushy tail enveloping her paws as she frowned down at the kitten. Licking her maw she gave a deep sigh as she forced her face to soften, wouldn't due to scare kittens now.

Midnightpaw came running over. "Winterkit!! What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with mom and dad and Sheepkit? Oh sorry hello Specklefur." With jet black apprentice with light stormy gray eyes, white on her muzzled chest underbelly, paws, and tail tip with a silver dot under each eye meowed, eyeing her younger brother. She swept him into a hug, curling her tail around him.

Winterkit was surprised they didn't see his death. "I-I d-drowned in the Riv-er. he explained stammering, "I-I don't th-think m-mom, d-dad, o-or Sh-sheepkit know, y-yet."

"Dont worry Mommy and Daddy and Sheepkit will find you. I'm sure of it." Midnightpaw meowed curling he retail tighter around her brother in a protective way.

Winterkit nodded. It was true. His family will soon find him.
