A Withered Blizzard is no Good [For Clover]

Sleep... Sleep... Sleep... Sleep... The word echoed through her mind. Sleep... Sleep! Sleep! Sleep! Witherkit gave a frightened yelp, whimpering loudly. Her amber-brown eyes flashed dark with anger. Mommy? Why do you always scare me? With heavy, frantic breaths she realized the pounding rain on the ceiling. A wicked flash of flaming yellow struck the ground with a large rumble. She gave a shiver of sudden coldness. 

Her jaw chattered noisily going with the rain droplets thundering from the gray, unhappy sky. Chatter, drop. Chatter, drop. Chatter, drop... She curled up into a fluffy ball of amber colored fur, continuing to shiver. Thunder, crash. Thunder, CRASH. Another flash of lightning. She leaped up, closing her eyes tightly and racing throughout the den, before she bumped and tripped over another sleeping kit. "Ohp! Sowwy!" She cried, a wave of embarrassment creating a sickening feeling felt throughout her stomach.

Blizzardkit was sleeping peacefully, having a dream of hunting on the moors. He saw a rabbit and chased after it, his long legs and tail making him go faster and have longer strides. He leaped- And hey what?! Someone tripped over him and he woke up. Blinking pale ice blue eyes that shown through the darkness of the den he yawned and looked to see what woke him up. "Huh? Oh its fine Witherkit. Don't worry about little old me." The silver tom meowed smiling some, even though she couldn't see him, very well that is. "Are you ok? I know tripping over someone else isn't very fun especially if they have long legs. Couldn't sleep with this storm?" He purred flicking her gently with his long tail, that was now smooth and free of kitten fuzz. Sitting up he flexed his sharp thorn white claws and then retracted them.

"Owh." She replied plainly, gazing into his fierce blue eyes. Her amber-brown eyes remained wide and curious, before they shifted off, glaring at something else.

"Whats wrong?" Blizzardkit meowed noticing, even in the dark, that she glared at something. I wonder if i can help her with the storm at all. "Hey you know what makes the storm not so scary? It's easy i could show you if you'd like." He meowed plainly. He was so observant, it was hard to scare him. And besides once you see how truly beautiful the storm is you wont be scared of it anymore.. He thought and looked wistfully out the bramble walls of the nursery at the silver drops of rain that fell down making the ir tingle with music. Drip. Drop. Drip. Drop. Drip. Drop. Drip. The music of nature always made him feel calm, since he had no mother or father to do so.

Blizzardkit storm. "Take a look at the rain, truly listen to it. Drip. Drop. Drip. Drop. Drip. Drop. Drip. It sounds like music to me. The lightning  is beautiful." Just like you.. He thought and wanted to say it but thought she wouldn't return his feelings. "Look how it lights up the skies in purples, reds, oranges, white, yellows. The thunder isn't so scary if you think about how it sounds like those things that two legs play (drums) around the fire sometimes. The wind is singing whispering softly, like a mother comforting a frightened young kit." He meowed and scooted closer to Witherkit so she wouldn't be so cold.

Feeling dazed and confused a but also happy and protected, she mewed, "Wow, Bwizzawdkit! Wow'we wight!" She started purring warmly, more of the rythmic water falling down from the unhappy sky. Well, I'm more happy than you, sky! She thought to herself. 


Her mangled tail slowly swished behind her, rubbing against the floor, creating a comforting, warm sound. Little did she know it was her own tail, but she continued to let it sway nonetheless. 

Blizzardkit purred when she relized.
