The birth of the River and the Song(closed for Toy)

Spirit had been preparing herself for giving birth to her second litter. She knew it was only a few days ago she managed to gather some herbs for it and now it was time. She was laying in the beautiful spot that she had met Eagle. Though she didn't know if he would show up she still chose the spot because it was in her opinion secure enough. Only minutes to hour or so later she had given birth to two healthy she kits. She was laying there curled around the unned kits waiting to see if Eagle would show up.

Racing to him and his mate's designated birth area, he raced there, disputed a thorn which had cracked the pad of his paw. Limping unsteadily on three legs and racing to his mate, he gave a yowl of fright - and delight - when he saw two wet bundles of fur resting next to Spirit. "Spirit," he gasped, tail lashing with disbelief. "They-they're beautiful."

Spirit blinked and looked up seeing him. She purred happily. At her flank was a wet bundle of silver and grey and another of creamish white and brown. She purred softly" I tried to wait as long as I could for you to come but they didn't want to wait....so I haven't named them yet I wanted to do that with you " She mewed. The two bundles of fur mewed and squirmed a bit

He stepped closer to her, blinking slowly at the beautiful kits. "Spirit, they're beautiful! I think we should call that one River. You can name the other," He lay down next to her, nuzzling her and their newly birthed children. 

Spirit purred and smiled " like the name and for this one how about Song... she reminds me of my mother Softsong " She mewed purring some as she licked the silver and grey kit.

The silver and grey kit mewed and squirmed a bit.

Though River was now sound asleep.

At the word, "mother", Eagle was in an instant flashback. 

"Mommy! What's this for?" He asked his mother while she stepped onto the Perch. "I'm the new leader," she replied to him without emotion. 


Then when it all changed.


She died of an untreatable illness, and had left everyone extremely sad. Meadow, her name was. Meadow, the beautiful cream she-cat that gave birth to the tom, now watching other she-cats give birth. Meadow, rest in peace, The tom vowed silently, feeling a wave of emotions dampen his excited feelings. 

Snapping back into real life, away from the horrid flashbacks that haunted and taunted him, he purred again, "Song is a pretty name. Am I going to get to stop by everyday to help take care of them?"

"Yes of course you will be able to " Spirit mewed purring a little. She looked at him with her ice blue eyes smiling some.
