Swiftkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the willow branch for a Clan meeting!" Fishstar yowled.

"I'm old enough to catch my own prey!" Swiftkit mewed anxiously as she ran out of the nursery and sat down below the willow branch. She felt so excited, her dreams of being an apprentice will finally come true. She looked up at Fishstar, unable to hide her excitement.  She waited for Fishstar to continue.

Willowpaw padded out of the elders den and padded over. She smiled at the kit. "Congrats Swiftkit." The diluted gray and black calico purred and sat down.

Swiftkit smiled at Willowpaw. "Thank you. I've been waiting for this for a long time." she mewed. She wondered who her mentor will be, when do they start training, and what will they practice. She looked around for other RiverClan warriors and apprentices to come.

"Swiftkit, please step forward," Fishstar beckoned once the kit had arrived.

Swiftkit walked closer to the willow branch then sat down. She couldn't hide her excitement.

Whitefoot padded into the clearing angrily, perking his ears in interest at the apprentice to be, I hope Fishstar let's me mentor Swiftkit, ever since Ripplepaw ran off to who knows where. It's been moons!

Swiftkit looked over at the warrior and thought, Will he be my mentor? She looked back up at the willow branch, waiting for Fishstar to continue.

"Today, Swiftkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and are now ready to be apprenticed. From this day forth, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Swiftpaw. Palefrost will be your mentor. I trust she will make a fine warrior out of you." The leader leapt down off of the willow branch and joined in the congratulatory chanting.

Swiftpaw thanked Fishstar and looked around for Palefrost, her new mentor.
