| Trees rustled softly underneath the dim glow of Silverpelt, the purring barely heard.
A chilly gust of wind made his fur bristle with fear and chilliness, scaring the young kit.
He whimpered loudly and curled up into a brown black and white ball of fur.
He cried quietly to himself, "How I wish Mommy or Daddy were here to comfort me..."

| "Shh, I'm here." Rabbitwhisker purred, sneaking into the nursery after a night patrol. It was a pain, but it beat waking up his kits in the morning for a dawn patrol. He was no queen after all, he had no right to skip his duties as his kits would nurse off the other queens, and they were also willing to look after the little ones. But after losing his mate, Heatherfang, he couldn't help feel like he had to do double the work to make sure they knew they were loved. "Settle down." He licked the two on top of their heads, before repositioning them so he could curl around them. |

| A grin appeared on his face shortly after his Father did. "Daddy!" The brown-furred tom-kit purred, "Thanks for coming to be here." With tiny paws he quickly stepped over to his dad, mindful about the other kits lurking and playing nearby. Pitter, patter. Pitter, patter. Pitter, patter...

| Rabbitwhisker yawned, tail tucking to curl around them both along with their siblings. The nursery was warm as usual, surrounded by pine needles and branches, but it never hurt for him to huddle around the little ones. "I'll always be here for you. Now does anyone want to tell me why you two aren't far off hunting fat mice in your dreams?" |
