| Marigoldleaf sat at the edge of the territory, waiting for her mate. Her jaws opened in a large as she stretched her legs. She sat, wrapping her tail around her body. She looked around as she heard pawsteps approaching, hoping they were Eagle's. "Eagle, is that you?"

| A shadowy and sad voice groaned slowly, "No one else... It's me, Marigoldleaf." He stepped out of the bushes he was hiding in, ears pinned back and tail drooping. He plopped down next to his mate, crying and whimpering softly.
