What are the duties of a medicine cat: The duties of a medicine cat are to heal their clanmates in times of sickness and to guide their leader to make the best choices for the clan. Medicine cats are also special as they receive and interpret prophecies and messages from StarClan, and are forbidden from having mates.
What you would do with this position: With the lack of medicine cats in SkyClan right now, I would take over all duties a full medicine cat would perform. I would also try to break the medicine cat curse of being inactive.
Why you think you deserve this position: I know and understand the ways of a medicine cat, having been one before. I am fairly active and a good roleplayer if I say so myself. I have also handled being the only medicine cat in the Clan twice before, so there's that.
