Goldenkit and Minnowkit's Apprentice Ceremony

It was sun high and the camp was bustling as they got prepared for potential attacks. The rogue's invasion and the fox's attack which wounded Specklefur and crippled Sunpelt, had been the last straw and everyone was busy making sure camp was secure. With so many kits, to leave camp vulnerable would be a death sentence to them, one he had every intention of preventing. But today's meeting wasn't about something so grim, it was to be about a joyful event. Sunpelt and Cloverpool's kits were finally of age to become apprentices in their own right. Leaping on top of High Rock in one swift jump, the deputy called out.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath High Rock for a clan meeting."

Goldenkit trotted out of the nursery. 'I wonder what this is for?' He thought, silently purring. "Mommy! Minnowkit! Come on!!"

Minnowkit passed out after her brother. "What do you think is going on?" she meowed to her brother.

Cloverpool passed out after her kits. "I think your having your apprentice ceremonies." she purred and groomed their fur so they would look their best when they were made apprentices.

Sunpelt peeked out of the medicine cat's den, pride churning in him when he saw Goldenkit and Minnowkit trotting out of the nursery. This is your big day, he wanted to tell his son and daughter. You'll finally become apprentices.

The yellow tabby wanted so much to go and greet Goldenkit, Minnowkit, and Cloverpool that it hurt. But his broken hind leg was more painful, and he knew he would have to stay in the medicine cats den a bit longer before he could hunt and fight for his Clan once more.

He sighed sadly, thinking to the time when he was a young apprentice, with care-free thoughts. But now I have this stupid broken leg holding me back from being the best warrior I can be, he grumbled to himself.

Sunpelt waved his tail welcomingly at his son, daughter, and mate. "Hello!" he called across the clearing to his family. "Are you ready for your big day?" He purred happily, his annoyance temporarily forgotten.

Flamestripe hurried from the warriors den in time to hear Sunpelt call out to Goldenkit, Minnowkit, and Cloverpool. Their big day...? The orange tabby tipped his head to one side, pondering. Oh! It's Goldenkit and Minnowkit's apprentice ceremony!

He let out a trill of delight, and padded over to Cloverpool, sitting beside her. He smiled down at Goldenkit and Minnowkit. "Are you excited?" he purred happily. Pride thrummed through him. ThunderClan is thriving!

Minnowkit turned shining Wes to her father she never really understood why he stayed in the medicine cats den. "Hi daddy!!" he yelled back over to him. "Yes I think we're ready." she said to both her father and her uncle.

Cloverpool purred getting up she padded over to her mate and touched noses with him. He gently twined her tail with his and started to groom his ruffled pelt and being as careful as she could with his broken leg.

Goldenkit smiled. "Daddy! Hi! Uncle Flamestripe, I'm readier than ready!" He playfully leaped, then chuckled.

Sunpelt purred and called out to his kits, "Sorry I can't come out of the medicine cats den. I have to rest my broken leg."

Flamestripe smiled at Goldenkit and Minnowkit. "I'm glad you're ready, kits. I'm really proud, and so is your daddy." Even though he wasn't Goldenkit and Minnowkit's real uncle, he was delighted that they called him that. He was actually their second cousin once removed.

OOC: Oh my gosh. When I was writing 'Sunpelt' at the beginning of my post I wrote 'Daddy'! Lol.

"Ahem." The deputy interrupted, tails flicking in amusement at the kit's obvious glee and how the family was all excited. It was nice to see the clan enjoying themselves and celebrating, not mourning. But the ceremony had to go on, that was why they were all gathered. "Goldenkit, Minnowkit, you have both reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you two to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you have receive your warrior names, you will be known as Goldenpaw and Minnowpaw. Your mentors will be Fawnwillow and Foxfang. I hope they will pass down all they know on to you."

"Fawnwillow, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You had received excellent training from Lavenderwish and you have shown yourself to be wise and calm. You will be the mentor of Goldenpaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to her. May StarClan guide your paths." Duskfall spoke, looking over at the cream she-cat, and then leapt off High rock. He nodded to the two new mentors, before joining in chanting the new apprentice's names.

Goldenpaw gasped in suprise when he heard the deputy speak of his name. "Thank you, Du- Duskfall!"

Minnowpaw touched noses with Foxfang. After that she cuffed her brother on the ear gently.
