Rookkit and Snowkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Duskfall padded out of the warrior's den with purpose, leaping onto High Rock with practiced ease to hold a ceremony. It was time for Rookkit and Snowkit to become apprentices. The death of their mother, sweet Silkcloud had been tragic, but the kits had grown up fine. They were strong, and he was proud to call them fellow ThunderClan cats.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath High Rock for a clan meeting." He yowled, green eyes sharp and alert. It was his honour to hold a ceremony for these little ones.

Flamestripe hurried from the warriors den, knowing that this was his daughter and son's apprentice ceremony. He sat beneath Duskfall's rock, staring up expectantly. Pride warmed him from ears to tail-tip, as well excitement to be able to patrol with his kits.

He smiled at the deputy, waving his tail in welcome.

Rookkit burst out of the nursery and towards the rock. Today could be it! This could be her day to become an apprentice! Suddenly, she tripped and tumbled into her father.

Stormstrike came out of the Warrior's den and sat down in the clearing, looking up at her Grandfather.

Soaringwing followed behind his best friend and sat down next to her. He sighed sadly and looked to his paws.

Frozenflame joined the group of cats and sat down next to Stormstrike, giving her a lick.

Rookkit squirmed away from her father. "Dad!" she complained.

OOC: As Snowkit hasn't posted in over a week, I'll just continue onwards without them.

"Rookkit, step forward." The brown tom meowed, nodding for the kit to step in front of her clan to start the ceremony. After giving the little she-kit a moment, the deputy continued the ceremony. "Rookkit, you've reached the age of six moons, and it's time for you to be apprenticed. From this day onwards until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Rookpaw. Your mentor will be Robinflight. She will teach you all that she knows."

"Robinflight, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You have shown yourself to be patient and clever. You will be the mentor of Rookpaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to her. May StarClan guide your paths." He spoke fondly to his former apprentice, knowing that she'd become a fine hunter and warrior in her own right.

Rookkit stepped forward and gladly accepted her new name and mentor. She dipped her head to the deputy and turned around to look for Robinflight.

The she-cat emerged from the crowd of cats, overjoyed to finally have an apprentice. This is going to be great! She thought, her amber eyes showing their excitement. She nodded quickly to Duskfall and turned to Rookpaw, gently touching noses with the young she-cat.

Rookpaw's eyes twinkled with happiness as she touched noses with her new mentor.

Flamestripe purred, and chanted, "Rookpaw! Rookpaw!"
