Lavenderwish was sitting by the camp entrance, cleaning her fur, since at the moment, she wasn't doing anything else. The sun warmed her fur, and she basically basked in its glow, the sunlight illuminating her buff-tabby coat.

The deputy came out of the warrior den, having slept after a dawn patrol. Duskfall was still in his prime, younger than quite a few of the warriors, but with everything that had gone on, he looked world weary. His body was in shape, fur taut against his muscular build, but the wild ferocity of his youth and naivety had been lost. It hadn't helped that he'd been eating poorly, but with the clan recovering from so many losses and Greenleaf's sun rays shining, he felt a little more alive. Alive enough to have a bite to eat.

But seeing as the freshkill pile was looking meagre, the tom instead decided to eat after a patrol.

"Lavenderwish?" The tom called out to the nearby warrior. She was a fine warrior, and the sister of Tawnypaw, the sweet ThunderClan apprentice who still haunted his dreams at times. He wasn't close with the she-cat, but knew her to be a fine warrior and loyal. Which was really all he needed to know. "Would you accompany me on a hunting patrol?"

Lavenderwish's ears pricked up when she heard Duskfall call her name. She paused in her cleaning to and looked up at him, proscessing the question.
"Sure thing, Duskfall." she answered politely, nodding once and rising to her paws. The fresh kill pile did look low, and Lavenderwish needed to hunt before she could take from it.
However calm she looked, her thoughts were a little more active. Duskfall wants to go on a hunting patrol with just me? she pondered, though her face gave away nothing.

The deputy nodded his head in acknowledgement of her reply in turn, appreciating her prompt and polite reply. Manners and respect have been something that some cats had been lacking lately, though he didn't comment on it to anyone. He chalked it up to the impulsivity of youth, something he knew first hand very well.

Appreciating her company on this hunt, he decided to take this time to get to know her. So caught up in the drama his kin seemed to endlessly supply, he'd failed to really get to know most of the clan. Which was a real pity, and something he planned to rectifying. Starting with Lavenderwish.

He lead them to nearby Owltree, where prey seemed to mill about ever since the old raptor died. It had yet to be filled by another bird.

"Do you see anything?" He asked, his green eyes flicking over the undergrowth they were surrounded by. The pungent scent of prey was everywhere, so much so it was actually difficult to follow one scent without being confused. They were going to have to rely on sight for now.

Lavenderwish followed Duskfall into the forest, as he led the way to the Owltree.
She stopped and in response to his prompt, she looks around for any signs of prey. In the corner of her eye, a leaf trembles, and a little nose appears from underneath it. She signals to Duskfall, and waits for his move.

Duskfall nodded at her signalled, acknowledging he'd seen it before moving into position. He stayed downwind, moving silently like the predator he was, blocking off the prey's most obvious route. He flicked his tail for her to take it, he would be the back up to catch it if it fled.

Lavenderwish moved silently around the other side of the mouse, taking position, and pounced. The mouse didn't have time to squeal its alarm, and Lavenderwish gave a silent prayer for the prey.

"Great catch." Duskfall spoke, genuinely impressed by her quick reflexes and skill, catching that mouse before it made a noise. His ears twitching instinctively to check for anything else around before digging a hole for the mouse to be buried in. Lavenderwish had done all the work, the least he could do was bury it.

While putting the mouse away, the deputy couldn't help feel a little nostalgic about this little moment here. Hunting with a clanmate, working together to catch freshkill for the clan. With so mush sadness and grief lately, it was nice to just do the simple things and enjoy it.

"It's been a while since I've gone on a simple hunt." He commented aloud, finishing up covering the mouse with dirt. "Sorry silly thing to mention, I guess. But with so much going on, I've just forgot how it felt to be under the trees and hunt. "

OOC: oh man i completely forgot about this aaaaaa im so sorry

IC: "Thank you." Lavenderwish answered, dipping her head. "Yeah, I know what you mean. So much drama, you just have to get away from it all. Hunting is simpler than dealing with drama."
