Silkkit Apprentice Ceremony

Despite there being no High Rock, Duskfall leapt onto the nearest elevated rock to call out to his clan. While the forest was burnt down, life had to go on. And what better way to show this, than an apprentice ceremony.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their prey gather beneath me for a clan meeting!"

Silkkit got up from her bed of moss. She shook the leaves and moss bits out of her glossy white fur. A smile rose on her face, and Silkkit slighted her head, full of wonder. But, she followed directions, and padded over to the tree. I hope this is my apprentice ceremony! She thought, letting out a tiny mew of excitement.

"Silkkit, step forward." Duskfall spoke calmly, looking down at the eager kit.

Silkkit stepped, waiting for Duskfall's next sayings. Her smile grew, and just the thought oh her apprenticeship, made her give a tiny quiver of excitement.

"Silkkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Silkpaw. Your mentor will be Foxafang. I hope Foxfang will pass down all he knows on to you." Duskfall finished, looking over at newly apprenticed, Silkpaw. She was most likely rogue born, but it mattered little. She was a clanmate now, and he trusted her to become a fine warrior eventually with the guidance of Foxfang.

Foxfang watched the ceremony from his designated rock. Well, it really wasn’t his, just his preferred place. The rock still owned itself. Those gray eyes had mostly cleared from the smoke and ash, but it still stung when he blinked. A ceremony away from camp; it seemed almost inconceivable. Still, life goes on.

At the sound of his name, Foxfang focused on their deputy. Knowing what to do, the ginger tom strode over to the newly named Silkpaw and touched her nose with his. “You’ll be stronger than anyone by the time you’re finished.”

Silkpaw smiled and purred, "I hope so!" She then touched noses with Foxfang.
