Cloverpaw and Sunpaw (open kind of)

Sunpaw purred at Cloverpaw. "Sure!"  He touched his muzzle to her ear, and then led the way to the bramble barrier that surrounded the ThunderClan camp.

As they padded together, pelts brushing, Sunpaw's fur tingled with a sense of excitement to be with alone with Cloverpaw. Since Flamepaw's sentencing, they hadn't been together much. He also felt another churning feeling deep inside. Cloverpaw was so fun and exciting, and Sunpaw knew she would run forever if he told her to. Even when they were little kits, they had loved each other. Now that bond had grown stronger as they grew older, and Sunpaw was excited. He wanted to become mates, but he knew he would have to wait a bit longer. He already trusted Cloverpaw with his life, but they both needed some time to create romance between them. They were close friends, and they knew they loved each other, but nothing had happened between them except for tail-twining and licking. Sunpaw wanted it to become more real, and he was determined to create a stronger bond with Cloverpaw.

OOC: Cool! I've always wanted to go to Mexico.

IC: Sunpaw felt words stuck in his throat as they made their way up the ravine. He wanted to tell Cloverpaw that he loved her, but at the moment it seemed too awkward. He would wait until later. Right now he would just have to be happy that Cloverpaw was with him. And he was happy. More than happy.

When they reached the top of the ravine, Sunpaw dropped into the hunter's crouch when he saw a mouse scrabbling among its nuts. He stealthily crept forward and pounced, landing squarely on the prey. He dealt it the killing blow, and triumphantly picked it up to show Cloverpaw his plump catch.

Sunpaw purred, and licked her ears. "I love you too, Cloverpaw. I don't know what I'd do without you." He breathed in her soft, sweet scent, and closed his eyes. Cloverpaw was the closest cat he had, other than Lionpaw, Frostpaw, Littlefang, and Whitecloud.

Suddenly he tensed. He had heard a rustling overhead. He looked slowly up, and saw a thrush fluttering around a tree's branches. He flicked his tail gently across Cloverpaw's mouth to warn her to be quiet, and slowly crept to the tree. He silently dug his claws in the bark, and slithered up the trunk. He circled to the side of the tree opposite the bird, and climbed up to the branch that was sitting above the bird's branch. Using skills from hunting practice, he leaped down to the bird's branch and landed neatly on the prey. He snapped its neck, and nudged the bird off the branch, leaving Cloverpaw to catch it before it hit the ground and got bruised.

Sunpaw jumped down to the forest ground. He stumbled from the force of his fall, but quickly regained his balance. "We're not on a hunting patrol," he told Cloverpaw. "So we can eat this. Want to share?"

Sunpaw relished the sharp tastes of the thrush filled his mouth. Memories came flooding back as he thought of his first time eating prey. It had been with Cloverpaw, and they had eaten a thrush. He purred, and reminded Cloverpaw of that. When he had finished his share, he gave her ears a brisk lick. When Cloverpaw had finished too, Sunpaw took the bones and buried them, saying a quick prayer of thanks to StarClan for food.

Just as he was about to suggest going to the part of the forest where the fire hadn't burned everything down, he smelled the scents of Tanglepaw and Flashpaw. "Cloverpaw, do you smell that? It's Tanglepaw and Flashpaw. What are they doing? Do you think they're spying on us?" But we weren't doing anything wrong, he told himself. They have nothing to accuse us of.

Sunpaw stepped up to stand beside Cloverpaw, ready to protect her if Tanglepaw and Flashpaw started hurling accusations at them.

Sunpaw thought for a second. He wanted to spend some more time with Cloverpaw, but he didn't want to hunt more. He also didn't want to go back to camp. "Well, I don't want to hunt anymore, and I don't want to go back to camp. Let's go to the part of the forest that hasn't been burned by the fire, and hang around there for a bit." Sunpaw looked at Cloverpaw out the corner of is eye. Would the pretty she-cat agree? He wanted alone time with her, and hunting wasn't enough.
