Smokepaw's Overdue Warrior Ceremony

Breezestar stood tall in the tree that overhung SkyClan camp, ready to call his clan together. He was happy, so happy, that he'd finally be able to do his own son's warrior ceremony. It'd taken days to get him well fed again, of assessments and training to make sure his skills were still up to par - and to get that kittypet collar off of his neck. It was all worth the extra effort. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the Tall Branch for a clan meeting!"

Smokepaw blinked from where he was resting outside of the apprentice den at his father's call, before happily pulling himself to his feet as he made his way into the clearing. Things had been...Awkward to say the least for the last few days, trying to get to know the current cats of SkyClan and such. He had even taken up sleeping outside of the den on nights were it was nice enough, to try to smooth over the awkwardness...Not sure that helped thought. Either way, when his father had proclaimed so shortly after his return that he planned to make him a warrior, Smokepaw was overjoyed. So long had he lived with the name Smokepaw, now he was finally moving forward in his life, and he felt that there was no greater feeling.

Badgerpaw padded from the apprentice den as well with Breezestar's call. His gaze shifted to the strange white and gray tom that sat happily in the clearing, before he made his way to a spot of his own. He was left unsure what to make of the older tom, having not gotten used to him presence. What surprise he had felt when his sister had explained how she had found the tom and brought him here, only to turn out he was the leader's lost son! However, even with that fact in the air, Badgerpaw was left wary of the tom. But he was a SkyClan cat, and it was something Badgerpaw would have to overcome.

Breezestar radiated with pride as he watched the tom come to the front of the crowd and have a seat. Unlike most ceremonies, this one wouldn't be a surprise, and everyone knew what it was about. Happily, the leader gazed up into the sky. "I Breezestar, leader of SkyClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down at this apprentice. He has trained hard to learn the ways of your noble code and I commend him to you now in his turn." He called, letting his eyes fall back on the white tom. "Smokepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your clan even at the cost of your life?"

As he stood up and stared up at his father as the tom when on, pride swelling up in him. This was a moment he had been waiting for....He wasn't completely sure how long, but man did it feel good to finally reach this moment. As Breezestar spoke, Smokepaw ran his response thought his head over and over until it was time to speak. "Yes," he said loudly, his tail swishing happily.

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name." Breezestar purred. "Smokepaw, from this moment on you will be known as Smokeheart. StarClan honors your relentless loyalty and strength, and we welcome you as a full member of SkyClan." The tom quickly and gracefully leaped off of the Tall Branch, going down to meet his son, taking in every moment. Gently, the tabby rested his chin on top of the young tom's head.
