Magpiekit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enought to capture their own prey gather underneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!" Thrushstar yowled.

There were about two things Magpiekit was certain of. One, he was about to become and apprentice. Two, he would have the best mentor ShadowClan had to offer.

The tom smirked and exited the nursery. There was no need for him to sleep there ever again. His amber eyes swept across the growing crowd when he took his spot beneath the Jaggedrock. Who will be my mentor? Jayclaw? Scarletfrost? Or maybe even Thrushstar! The black kit began bouncing in his seat, purring at the thought of his future mentor.

"Tonight, we gather to make this kit an apprentice," the leader said, looking down at Magpiekit. "Magpiekit, from now until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Magpiepaw. Your mentor shall be Jayclaw. May he teach you everything that he knows."

Magpiepaw rose in excitement. Jayclaw was his mentor! His father! The one cat he looked up to most. Nothing could make him happier.

"Thank you Thrushstar! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" he purred, smiling at his leader. He bounded over to his father, leaning up to touch the warrior's nose.

"I won't let you down, father!"
