Welcome Home, kinda [For Softsong and SC cats]

The barely weaned kit hung limp like wet clothes in the jaws of Tunnelheart. Every breeze made her curl up and shiver to the best of her abilities but the cold was penetrating her soft downy fur easily. The pair were close to camp, that the unfamiliar yet familiar enough that she didn't protest in any way. But something about the place, perhaps a scent missing, evoked some sadness in the kit.

Tunnelheart carried the barely weaned kit into camp. She padded to the camp and stopped just briefly near the Nursery entrance. She set the kit down and licked the kits fur to warm it up.

Whiskerkit ran around the Nursery, waiting for Tunnelheart to return. Tunnelheart may not have given birth to the black and white kit, but she had taken care of him as if he was her own.

The kit watched as his mother padded into camp holding a younger kit.
Whiskerkit slowly padded over, showing curiosity and concern.

"Hey Whiskerkit this is going to be your new sister"Tunnelheart mewed gently to her adopted son. She smiled some.

Blizzardsky stopped in his tracks as Tunnelheart brought an unfamiliar kitten into the nursery. His whiskers twitched with curiosity. He followed her until he was half in the nursery, eyes dashing from Whiskerkit to the new kitten. "Who's this?" he asked firmly, eyes fixed on the figure in her jaws.

She had the kit at her paws and she she put her paws in front of the kit who looked exactly like her own deceased kit."its Wolfkit well that not her name but thats her name now. Im caring for the kit while my milk is still good. Besides i couldnt leave her on the thunderpath with her mother who was run over by a monster"She mewed defensively.

The newly named Wolfkit mewed in protest at the sudden influx of cats around her. It was loud, and she was hungry.

Tunnelheart heard the cry of Wolfkit and gently she picked the small she kit up and padded to her nest setting the kit down and laid down with Wolfkit quietly.

Blizzardsky shook his head. "Who was this kit's mother?" He narrowed his eyes at Softsong, not comfortable with the challenging tone of her voice. He moved forward as she scooted deeper into the far end of the nursery.

"I don't know but by the smell it was most likely a loner or rouge but i wasn't leaving her"She mewed watching him carefully. There was another reason that she had taken the kit with her she remembered her dream and the sheer fact it looked exactly like her and Strike's daughter, Wolfkit.

Blizzardsky stared at her grimly. He recollected that this queen had tragically lost her only kit, Wolfkit. He pulled his ears back, staring at her. "Are you replacing Wolfkit?" he murmured, his tone growing low. The fact that she named this stranger Wolfkit was no mere coincidence.

Tunnelheart was quiet for a moment and she glanced to the side"i...i im not replacing W..wolfkit this is her"She mewed quietly a sadness glinted in her eyes and what she sad would have made her sound somewhat not sane. She blinked her eyes and looked down at Wolfkit.

Whiskerkit stared at the newcomer. "A sister?" This other kit was much smaller and younger, perhaps a new born.

The kit mewled at her new brother, sniffing him once to check if he had milk, and then deciding he wasn't worth her time. She was hungry, and if he wasn't a source of food, she wasn't all the interested at the moment.

Tunnelheart purred watching before shegently nudged Wolfkit to her belly.
