Mousekit's Apprentice Ceremony

With a giant bound, Sunstar leapt atop the willow branch and yowled out, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather for a Clan meeting!"

Mousekit peaked out of the den, amber eyes twinkled at the prospect of becoming an apprentice. It has been long enough for him, and he was one of the biggest kits in the den. Not to mention he was ready to get out of camp. The confinements of his home seemed ever enclosing on the growing Mousekit, or soon to be, Mousepaw.

Once Sunstar saw the young tom, he called out yet again, "Mousekit, please step forward!"

Mousekit pushed his way through the crowd of cats, before getting to where the others could see him. The young tom looked up at his leader excitedly.

Once the kit obeyed again, Sunstar finished the ceremony and named the kit, "Mousekit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Mousepaw. Your mentor will be Honeywhisker."
