Hollykit's Apprentice Ceremony

Clawing his way up onto the cold wood of the willow branch, Sunstar yowled out, "Let all cats that can catch their own prey gather for a Clan meeting!"

Shimmerpaw padded out of the apprentice den, sitting down amongst the cats, looking up at Sunstar to see what this was about. It's probably an apprentice or warrior ceremony, she thought as she shivered in the cold.

Hollykit padded to where the clan was gathering, curious. A meeting? What could this be about?

Once the leader saw Hollykit, he called out to her, "Hollykit please step forward!"

Hollykit padded to where she was called. Her mind was racing. 'Has it really been six moons? I'm going to be an apprentice?'

Rainstreak sat down and looked up. Maybe I can mentor Hollykit...

Once he saw the kit step forward, Sunstar spoke the ceremonial words, "Hollykit have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Hollypaw. Your mentor will be Rainstreak. I hope she will pass down all she knows on to you."

The newly-christened Hollypaw padded over to her mentor nervously, unsure of what should happen next.

Rainstreak purred loudly and padded up to Hollypaw. "Hello, Hollypaw!" she mewed, smiling. The cat waited to speak, wondering if the young she-cat had anything to say before they went on the tour.
