Gingerpaw's Warrior ceremony

Spottedstar looked down on her mingling clan, calling them together for a meeting.

Gingerpaw ran down towards the clearing and sat down. Her pelt was groomed neatly before she went out. She knew her warrior ceremony was coming up and even if it wasn't hers now, it wouldn't take the chance to look dirty. She hid her excitement as she looked up at Spottedstar.

"Gingerpaw, please step forward" she mewed before continuing. "I, Spottedstar, leader of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. She has trained hard to learn the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Gingerpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

"Yes, Spottedstar!" Gingerpaw replied happily, trying hard to handle her excitement. She was becoming a warrior! She couldn't wait to tell that to her friends-- especially Dapplepelt.

Ducksnap looked at his formor apprentice a twinkle set in his green beady eyes. Letting out a sigh he almost gave a startled shriek as Gingerpaw said Spottedstar instead of, 'I do.' He supposed this was he own way and he stepped back sure to watch all around but keeping his gaze on Gingerpaw.

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I grant you your warrior name. From this day on, you shall be called Gingerleaf. StarClan honors your enthusiasm and loyalty, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan." She jumped down and rested her muzzle on her head.

Dapplepelt cheered. "Congrats, Gingerleaf!" He called to her with a big, bright smile.

Gingerleaf smiled and licked Spottedstar's shoulder when she placed her muzzle on the new warrior's head. She then turned her head to smile at Dapplepelt when he cheered.

Dapplepelt smiled and walked over to her. "You're gonna be an awesome warrior!" He meowed happily.

"So are you," Gingerleaf said happily before she licked her friend's cheek. She was glad to see him and she didn't know how to express it in a different way.

Dapplepelt blushed slightly and then said, "Being a warrior is really fun, but, as everybody know, it's also tough..." He said, and at the end it sounded like he was being funny. "Well, you have your silent vigil soon. I'll leave ya in peace." The torbie tom meowed.
