Cloudypaw's Warrior Ceremony

Leaping onto the rock, Thrushstar yowled for the clan. "Let all cats old enough to capture their own prey gather underneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!"

Coalpaw limped out of the apprentice den and stood a bit aways eyes brightening with excitement, "A ceremony!" He said excitedly.

Cloudypaw joined the crowd, and looked at Bearmask with hope. Perhaps it was her ceremony! And she'd made her mother proud! She smiled and hoped.

ShadowWhisper came out of the warrior den. She looked up at Thrushstar. Perhaps another ceremony. She scanned the clearing and found Cloudypaw. She stalked to her and dipped her head in greeting.

When all of the cats gathered, Thrushstar continued to speak. "Tonight we gather to make Cloudypaw a warrior. Cloudypaw, please step forward."

Cloudypaw smiled brightly and padded forward. She glanced at Bearmask, her mother and mentor. I've done her proud! she thought. I've done it!

"Cloudypaw, do you promise to serve and protect this clan, even at the cost of your life?" Thrushstar asked, waiting patiently for an answer.

Cloudypaw nodded. "I do."

"Then from now on, you will be known as Cloudydawn," he spoke, pausing for a moment to let the name kind of ring. "We welcome you as a full warrior of Shadowclan."

Cloudydawn lit up. "Thank you," she said with a nod. A warrior! Finally! She looked at Bearmask again, then ran to her and purred. "Momma, I did it."
