Dirtkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to capture their own prey gather underneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!" Thrushstar shouted from the top of the rock. It was time for an apprentice ceremony tonight.

Coalkit bounded out of the nursery, looking around. He realized what was going on, apprenticeship! For who, his mind swirled Dirtkit! The thought struck him, the nerves over whelming he groomed himself before going to stand by the nursery. Eyes peeled on the leader he managed a smile, Dirtkit was a friend.

Dirtkit Poked his head out of the Nursery entrance at the sound of the call. What is all this about, now? The young kit was still not so keen on the ways of the clans, so this so called 'clan meeting' seemed quite foreign and confusing to him.

Coalkit sighed "You really don't know? Your going to become an apprentice!" He whispered into then cats ear. Then he sat back in his place in the shadow.

"Apprentice? What in the forest is that?" Dirtkit looked at the other cat in sheer confusion and almost thought that he misunderstood the younger tom.

Ic:"One of the apprentices told me when you turn 6 moons old you become able to go out if camp ! Well at least I think so." He scrunched up his tiny face. But the apprentice Cloudypaw had told him and he beloved it was true. "I think you hunt." He was puzzled again.

It didn't take long for everyone to gather, and when they did, Thrushstar continued. "Tonight we gather to make Dirtkit and apprentice," he said, looking down at the kit. "Dirtkit, from now until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Dirtpaw. You will train in the ways of Shadowclan, learning how to hunt, fight, and protect our borders. Bearmask will be your mentor. She will teach you everything that she knows."

Dirtkit- Dirtpaw dipped his head in acknowledgement to the leader of his clan. When he raised his head, he stood tall for all to see his pride, even despite his small stature. One day soon I'll be a great warrior. he thought to himself, And perhaps even a leader myself....

Coalkit smiled "Dirtpaw!" She tried to do what all the other cats were doing. "Great job!" She whispered into Dirtpaws ear. The leaders words still rang in her ears, but when will that happen?
