On the Loose

Falconstar made his way towards RiverClan territory, waiting and pacing on WindClan's side and hoping to find a patrol or anyone really who could take him to Reedstar. He still felt weakened from having a life stolen from him, but he insisted on going all the same. Reedstar was an ally, so he at least hoped that the RiverClan leader could be trusted to aid in what would seem to soon become a forest-wide cathunt. Finding Twopelt and bringing him back to justice was imperative. At that moment, Eaglethorn was leading a patrol to find the traitor as he stood there, but it might be better if either he or Reedstar were the ones to find Twopelt. If Eaglethorn were to be the one to find him, there would probably be nothing left of the bi-pelted traitor.

"You are far from home, Falconstar."

Two murky green eyes peered out from a clump of reeds, and the RiverClan leader padded out, his emotions hidden behind a solemn mask. More RiverClan warriors appeared on either side. There was a mixture of curiosity and caution. What could be so imperative that this couldn't wait until the Gathering? He swept his gaze around, sniffing, but could only detect the WindClan patrol in front of them. Reedstar looked back to Falconstar. Could there be issues in old SkyClan territory? Had ShadowClan reformed? His claws unsheathed and sheathed again. "Has there been trouble?"

Midnightsky was ready to attack if they did one wrong move. He wanted to avoid a fight but if it happened then he'll be ready

Falconstar ignored the patrol that was giving him questioning glares and directed his words directly to Reedstar. "I'm afraid there's a problem. One of my warriors, Twopelt, admitted to killing another warrior in the clan and ran off after being confronted for it. I fear he poses a threat to the forest, so I was hoping that if any of your clan members saw him, they would be cautious and not give him shelter. If you do see him, I would like him brought back to WindClan to be given proper justice, but if he won't come quietly… then it may be better to take care of him right there." Behind that cold veneer of impassiveness, the WindClan leader didn't know what Reedstar could be thinking. If they were truly allies though, he would not dismiss this information.

In a moment, anger and surprise flickered in his eyes. A murderer? On the loose? He flexed his claws, remembering Hailwhisper's bloodied body being dragged through camp. After a moment of inner struggle, he forced a cool polite tone. "Thank you for this warning, Falconstar," he mewed. "We will comb the territory for this murderer until he's brought to justice, if he's fool enough to come here. Surely he's seen with his own eyes how RiverClan deals with injustice." His gaze hardened. Reedstar remembered Twopelt vaguely, if only for the strange way his pelt split so cleanly down the middle. He'd be easy enough to identify if he ever crossed the border. And StarClan help him if he does.

Midnightsky spoke up behind Reedstar. "Should I send a patrol out now?" He said, quietly. "If we're lucky we can find him before there are anymore victims." He looked back to the cats in the patrol, ready to give out the order as soon as Reedstar says so.

It was good that the RiverClan leader was in agreement with what had to be done. Before he could say anything else though, the sound of paws hitting the ground hard hit his ears. Wheeling around, he saw Eaglethorn running towards them, screeching to a halt in front of them. "Falconstar!" he gasped out, catching his breath. "We found Twopelt's scent. He crossed over towards ShadowClan." The leader's eyes widened in shock. ShadowClan? That couldn't be good. It was possible that they would just kill the traitorous cat, since he would appear to be a trespassing WindClan warrior, but still...

Amberheart, who was there the whole time, perked her ears as she peered out from the reeds. She flexed her claws as she heard Falconstar's words. A murderer! she was amazed, anger flashed in her eyes. She sprang up as another warrior ran up, thinking it was an ambush, but relaxed as he spoke. "But they'll kill him, right?" she mewed, before she realized what she was saying, then shrank down into the reeds, embarrassed.

"We can maybe send out a patrol towards Shadowclan, and retrieve Twopelt quickly, if we do we should get a few of our fastest runners, and strongest cats?" Longtail meowed, looking over the cats of the other patrol, they all looked strong really.

The ginger tom looked towards his leader, somewhat hoping the brown tabby tom would send him on this patrol, even if they were to go on this patrol.

"Or shelter him," Reedstar mewed darkly, eyes flashing. "I wouldn't put ShadowClan above harboring a murderer. And I think Nightstar will appreciate any of WindClan's secrets your Twopelt is willing to divulge, if she's still commanding that rogue nest." He spat at the mention of her name and looked back up at Falconstar."Or he may simply be killed by a roving patrol. That marsh will make him nearly impossible to track. If he's lost himself in it hiding from ShadowClan warriors, then you might as well give up on this hunt. If he hasn't strayed far from the border, though, or if ShadowClan is keeping him for any reason..." The tom lashed his tail and glanced up at the sky. It was still a pale blue. ShadowClan would be sleeping.

"Pardon my rudeness but..  Maybe we can tell ShadowClan about Twopelt." He said slowly and cautiously. "If they didn't know that Twopelt is a murderer they might let him go or leave. Or if he kills a shadowclan cat and they blame windclan.We need to tell them."

Ooc: I found this funnier than it should

This was bad. Anywhere was bad enough, but ShadowClan? Still, they couldn't jump to conclusions just yet… nor could they go wandering onto ShadowClan territory looking for him. "ShadowClan would not appreciate our presence on our land," he explained to the RiverClan warrior. "I think the only thing we can do is keep watch and hope that he is foolish enough to wander back onto our lands. He will surely regret it." With a nod to Reedstar, he motioned to Eaglethorn that it was time to depart. "Thank you, Reedstar. Your help is most appreciated. I must return to my clan now, though. Until we meet again."

ooc: I laughed so hard at that my dad said he thought I had asthma.

ic: Amberheart, though not very satisfied, stood. "Should I escort them?" she mewed to her leader, dipping her head. She hoped she didn't seem rude, but it seemed appropriate, although the meeting as peaceful.
