Lightkit and Graykit's Apprentice Ceremony

"All cats old enough to swim gather to hear my words!" Reedstar called, his voice punctuated with a sudden fit of coughing. Diseased crowfood eaters... Since the battle at ShadowClan, his health had taken a noticeable decline. His mouth had been filled with blood by the fight's end, and everyone in the forest had seen ShadowClan's sickness immediately, but now it had spread. He had not bothered with Sorrelpaw or Lichenface, insisting that the sickness would soon pass without wasting valuable herbs, but it had only gotten worse over time.

There was no time to dwell on that, however. Two more kits were ready for training. It was to be a ceremonious occasion. Reedstar stifled another cough. Perhaps he could ask for some tansy when this was over.

As the leader's words hit Sunfur's ears they perked up and he rose from his nest in the warriors den, stretching out his muscles and bones. Then he trotted out into the clearing and sat beneath the branch, looking up at his leader with intrigued eyes. He knew this was a apprentice ceremony, but wondered who the mentors would be.

Lightkit bolted out of the nursery. "Graykit! Come on!" she yelled before bolting down to where the leader and a warrior were. She shook with excitement.

Graykit followed her, but with less enthusiasm. She had actually woken him up from a nap. This better be good. He thought. When he saw what was going on, he quickly smiled, and ran into the center of camp. He sat down, and waited for them to continue.

Mistyflower perked up when she heard Reedstar's call, and padded over to her former apprentice. "Hello, Sunfur," she greeted him, sitting down. "Perhaps you or I will be one of the mentors."

OOC: I'm so sorry for this being late! I didn't realize I hadn't posted.

IC: "Graykit, Lightkit, step forward." Reedstar said. "You both have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Lightpaw and Graypaw. Lightpaw, your mentor will be Mistyflower. Graypaw, your mentor will be Whinchatwing. I hope they will pass down all they know onto you."

Lightpaw bounced up excitedly and looked around for Mistyflower, her little body shaking with excitement.

MidnightKit looked happily at Greykit. A bit jealous

Graypaw smiled. He knew that Whinchatwing wasn't going to greet him, but he was still happy. He wanted to be her friend, even if she didn't want to be his friend.

His fur twiched, he wanted to tackle hug his friend.

Mistyflower smiled and walked over to touch noses with her new apprentice. "Hello, Lightpaw." Apprentices made her feel big. "Ready to start training?"

"Ready as I will ever be!!" Lightkit said excitedly.
