Kittens and a Not-so-Friendly Father [BEFORE BATTLE]

Ooc: Snow hasn't been active for a while so let's just say they appeared. Poof.

Ic: Redshade yawned, padding out of the warriors' den and glancing up at the stars. He had decided not to go on the early patrols this morning, since others probably didn't want him on it anyways; It was their loss. He stretched, and glanced at the nursery. Just when it was getting dark, he had been woken up by screaming in the den as his mate, Snowfall, was giving birth. Heck, it was too early for that kind of stuff, and he just went back to sleep. Sure, the actions made him look like a butt-head, but he didn't care. He didn't even really want kits--Snowfall did, and if it kept her busy when they were born then whatever. He had yet to see them, and was a little curious about what his new family looked like. He had heard the medicine cat(whoever it was) say something about three kits before Redshade fell back asleep, and it even made him smile a little to know that he could have three good successors if trained properly. Unfortunately, thinking back on that, there was no way he could get away with teaching all three kits about the "proper" Clan ways of survival. Maybe he could pick one...One that looked the strongest or the most obedient. He grinned faintly as an idea came to mind. Oh, another genius plan of his was already forming in his head. It not only would help his family and his clan, but it would benefit Soulfang and Redshade's plans the most. That is, if all his kits weren't stubborn brats. Shouldn't they be waking up about now?

Ooc: If I am correct, Snow and his kits are Leechkit, Amberkit, and Wolfkit~

Leechkit's head slowly rose up, mouth opening in a large yawn. She let out a mew that sounded a lot more like a squeak than anything, and clumsily rose to her paws, eyes still shut.

Wolfkit twitched his fluffy, striped tail as Leechkit--one of his sisters--bumped into him slightly as she got to her paws. He too tried to shakily stand up, but stumbled and fell over onto his other sister, Amberkit. He let out a tiny mew and rolled off her, pawing at the air feebly.

Redshade raised an invisible eyebrow as he began to hear the tiny, faint mews of newborn kittens. Padding over to the Nursery, he quietly poked his head inside to see three healthy kittens squirming about. He was satisfied to see that they were strong and already trying to stand up, even if it was still pretty early for them to be moving much. Snowfall still seemed to be asleep, though he didn't pay much attention to her. His green eyes studied each kit carefully, for a moment wondering if any looked like him at all. Suddenly he remembered he didn't know their names, and was tempted to nudge his mate awake to discuss. He wanted to name one; the one that looked the most well-built or strong. The other twos' names could be picked by Snowfall, since she's the mother and he really didn't care what the three kits were named. But naming one sort of felt like he was claiming one himself for "special treatment" of some sort. Eh. Whatever. Names.

Snowfall woke up and started getting up before stopping to see her mate. "Hello Redshade." She whispered and looked up happily. She looked at her kits and smiled more. "Aren't they beautiful?" She looked awhile longer at them before licking one of the kits on the head.
