Blue eyes looked up at the brilliant stars that shone over head. Silverpelt had put on an amazing lightshow tonight, and it seemed like a perfect night to lift the spirits of a kitten. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, join here beneath the Jaggedrock for a clan meeting."

Scorchkit strode to the front of the crowd, head high and fur gleaming. His amber eyes were alight with interpretation as he sat down.

Nightstar looked down at the apprentice, then started the ceremony. "Scorchkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Scorchpaw. Your mentor will be Nightcloud. I hope Nightcloud will pass down all she knows on to you."

Turning to the warrior, the leader continued. "Nightcloud, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You had received excellent training from Sagestar, and you have shown yourself to be Kind and with a great sense of foresight. You will be the mentor of Scorchpaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to him."

Scorchpaw dipped his gray tanned head to Nightstar then turned to his new mentor, Nightcloud and touched his nose to Nightcloud's.

Nightcloud smiled softly, padding over to the newly named Scorchpaw and gently touched noses to him in return. "Lets make you the best warrior this forest has ever seen, hm?"
