Mousekit and Splotchkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting!" Dewstar was pleased to say the words that signaled for the ceremony of two very energetic kits after she had climbed up the Hghrock. These days it was very easy to get up as the claw marks she had left moons ago had become deep enough to get a strong grip on and heave herself up.

Spottedfeather padded underneath the highrock, waiting for the kits to come out. She smiled and looked back up at Dewstar.

Splotchkit peaked out of the thick, protected den. A hint of confusion was plastered on her face, but after a moment of thought she remembered. So in a rush, she gave her chest fur a hasty amount of licks, hoping that she would look fine as she made her way up to the rock. Splotchkit made extra sure to make an attempt of keeping her head held high. After all, she WAS going to become an apprentice.

"Mousekit, Splotchkit, please step forward." Dewstar said, her voice filling the clearing.

As the leader said her name, she could practically feel the clan's presence behind her as she broke out of the crowd. Her head was no longer held high as it once was. Having her name called to have her come up had drained all of that energy. What was she to do? What's going to happen? Who'd be her mentor? Jaw clamped shut, the kitten finally made her way to the mark, and thus waited in a fidgeted fashion for Mousekit so show up.

'Poor Splotchkit, so shy' Spottedfeather smiled. Well her mentor had to be at least nice, and not that rough. Smiling, she waited for Mousekit. Both of them were really shy, so they had to have some pretty resilient mentors.

"You both have each reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. Splotchkit and Mousekit, from this day on until you receive your warrior names, you will be known as Splotchpaw and Mousepaw. Splotchpaw, Spottedfeather has left the nursery and is now ready to take on another apprentice. Specklefur, I trust you are ready to take an apprentice and I give you Mousepaw to train."


OOC: Well that was a whole lot of monologue.

OOC: I totally knew that this was here... and in no way did I not check the apprentice ceremony things...

Mousekit had totally been there the entire time for her ceremony. It actually didn't even seem like it was time for this, actually. It felt like just yesterday she was coming out of the nursery for the first time, but here she was! Stepping forward when her name was called, she looked up at Dewstar and quickly over to Splotchkit as the leader talked. Today was definitely their big day. As her name was changed to Mousepaw, the newly named apprentice was absolutely filled with joy. Trying her best to keep from jumping around, she looked left and right to try to see who her mentor was. She had heard the name before, but she was never able to put it to a face. Specklefur... Now who could that be?

The she-cat let off a huff, quickly she rose from her spot, a monotonous look plastered on her face as she only took a few steps forward to be looking down at her new apprentice, oh boy... "I'm Specklefur, and I will be your mentor" She irritably stated.

Spottedfeather perked her ears as she heard she got another apprentice. She smiled and padded up to Splotchpaw. Touching noses with her new apprentice she purred. "We'll have fun, I promise."

Mousepaw looked up at Speckledfur with a curious look. Had something happened to irritate her? "Oh, um, okay." She responses as she quickly bounced up from her spot filled with pure excitement. She was so happy! She was finally an apprentice!
