Specklepaw's Assessment

The day had just begun, but it could already be told that it would be warm compared to most leaf-bare days. Perfect for hunting. Spottedflight padded swiftly over to the apprentice den, peaking her head inside to locate her quary. "Specklepaw, get up," she mewed softly, "It's high time you resumed your training. Meet me at the entrance." The warrior then turned and padded to the camp entrance to wait for her apprentice.

The large apprentice let off a grunt, letting off a yawn she shakily got to her weak paws, though better from saving the little twerps butt. Groggily she walked outside, the sun through the clouds blinding her eyes. Passing the fresh-kill pile she trudged straight to her mentor, standing tall before the warrior.

Spottedflight gave her apprentice a smile. "I'm glad to see you've been recovering well," she mewed, rising to a standing position to match Specklepaw. The apprentice was almost as tall as herself, with the combination of Spottedflight's small stature and Specklepaw's larger body. "So I've decided to give you an assessment. I want you to catch three pieces of prey and bring them back here by Sun High. Remember, I'll be watching you, but don't go looking for me," she mewed, now stepping aside to let the younger cat into the forest. "Go ahead and get moving, you don't want to waste precious time".

"I won't promise you anything" She smirked before running off through the bracken wall and beginning her assessment to start her assessment, this was going to be easy.

As soon as she got up the ravine and entered the hunting grounds of Thunderclan, she had smelt prey, and it smelt good.

Suddenly a strong smell wafted over her nostrils, crouching into a perfected hunting crouch she slowly lurked forwards. Quickly the she-cat lashed forwards, trying to kill the mouse with atleast quickly and painlessly.

"Haha!" She jeered as she quickly buried the mouse, remembering to get it later.

Spottedflight flicked her tail impatiently as she waited for Specklepaw to get far enough ahead of her. After a few moments, she set out, catching up in time to see her first kill. Good form, good kill the warrior thought, suppressing a purr at the fact that Specklepaw had retained her abilities after being camp-bound for so long.

After burying the mouse she continued to walk the territory, almost forgetting about her assessment, but just before it was rid of her knowledge, she spotted a squirrel, chewing on a nut quickly. With high speeds, the apprentice launched forwards, she was already close enough so, what did it matter, crouching or not?

She snatched the squirrel easily from where it sat, killing it instantly she hid it once more, treading off to find one more piece of prey.

After the squirrel was killed, Specklepaw licked her maw, continuing to walk on and the goal to finish her assessment in mind.

As the sun slowly was on the verge of setting she spotted another mouse, out in the small opening, her last few attempts weren't very successful, but now was her last chance.

Quickly, she dropped into a crouch, leaning forward steadily, her claws unsheathed. Quickly she launched forwards, killing the mouse quickly and cleanly.
