Silverpaw's Battle Training

Sandwhisker paced outside of the apprentices' den, waiting for his first apprentice, Silverpaw.

Silverpaw woke up her icy blue eyes blinked away her sleep as She got to her light gray paws. She then quickly padded out of the apprentices den excited.

"Uh, hello, Silverpaw. I decided that today we're going to learn battle moves. I know the Clan usually does mass training, but never really liked those and decided to take you out seperatly." He led the way from the camp, coming to a small clearing in the reeds with a tiny stream running through it. His old training place with Reedstar.


OOC: Have you learned the battle system yet?

(Yeah I remember)

Silverpaw nodded"ok"she needs excitedly.

(Ok I was taught two different ways so far which is without the dice and with the dice)

OOC: the Hunting system uses dice. The battle system uses charts that show the health of you and your opponent, showing how much damage was done and how much health each person has left. Do you need me to explain more fully?

Ooc yeah I might need a refresher...

OOC: Ok. The battle system uses HP(health) and SP(stamina) to keep track of who's winning. For Sandwhisker, it would be set up like this:

Sandwhisker:
HP: 45/45
SP: 160/160

Sandwhisker is a young warrior, so he has more health and stamina than Silverpaw, who would look like this:

Silverpaw:
HP: 20/20
SP: 80/80

It's recommended that you only battle those with equal or less starting health than you so that you can have a more favorable fight. Another differing factor is damage done by each move. For Sandwhisker to use the move Front Paw Blow, he must use 5 stamina and would deal 15 damage. If he were using this move on Silverpaw, it would leave her with:

Silverpaw:
HP: 5/20
SP: 80/80

He would also subtract 5 stamina from his 160 SP, which would leave him with 155 SP. Stamina costs are universal, meaning that cats of every rank lose the same amount of SP. If Silverpaw were to use this move on Sandwhisker, she would use up 5 SP and deal 12 damage to Sandwhisker, leaving him with:

HP: 33/45
SP: 155/160

Silverpaw nodded and front paw blow at her mentor claws sheathed.

Silverpaw:
HP: 20/20
SP: 75/80

OOC: Be sure to include the damage you did and the stamina it costed in your sentence.

"That was good. The move front paw strike is essentially the same, but you use your claws." He shifted his weight in discomfort. "So... The next move is belly rake. Just slide under me and kick at my stomach."

Silverpaw nodded slightly and slid under her mentor doing a belly rake.

"Yeah, that was pretty good." His stomach hurt a bit from the kick, but that would go away. "After that we're doing the leap-and-hold move- jump onto my back, and I won't be able to hurt you. Just don't make it too obvious, or they'll counter your attack."

OOC: Yes, that was good.

Silverpaw nodded and got to her paws trying not to make it too obvious she leapt at her mentor and landed on his back holding on.
