Lionpaw's Battle training

Nightcloud sat right outside of the ShadowClan camp as she waited for Lionpaw, her gaze flicking around the swampy undergrowth. Her training had grown slow with the disappearance of Eagleclaw, but she knew that ShadowClan needed all of the warriors they could get. While she still mourned for her ex-apprentice, she knew that she had to carry on. It was time to get the training of her apprentices back into high gear, mostly with her newest apprentice, Lionpaw.

Lionpaw bounded out of the Apprentices' Den quickly and over to Nightcloud. "I'm here!" he huffed. "So, am I the only one training today with you?" He looked around excitedly. "I can't wait! My first battle training as an apprentice!"

Nightcloud smiled as she saw her apprentice and how excited he was to get started. "Yes, it is only you and me today. Now come on, we have a lot to learn today." The silver tabby flickered her tail as she turned and padded into the territory; looking over her shoulder at Lionpaw as they walked. "So, how has life been as an apprentice?" It seemed like a random question, but she always wanted to know the answer. She remember that big step of becoming an apprentice had been a bit scary at first, but at least she had Sagewhisker to lead her...It felt weird, thought, thinking of her former mentor by his warrior name, but she guessed it was so; Sagewhisker wasn't leader anymore and hadn't been for many moons at this point...But still, it did feel mighty weird to do so.

Lionpaw tilted his head to the side a bit, pondering the question Nightcloud asked him. "It's great so far," he mewed happily. "I really want to train and hunt and do everything that I couldn't do as a kit, and now I met a bunch more cats, which is amazing, because now I'm not lonely anymore!" His tail drooped a bit. "But if I mess up or get in trouble, I'm gonna have to pick ticks out of the elder's fur." He shuddered. "Nasty."
