Litter Numero 2

The same cry from before, the same time of day - only, this time it was Leaffall. Lavenderheart, her body twisting in pain and agony, she felt that she was about to let out another agonizing cry, but held it in. Twistedfoot, Shadeheart, and Ravenpaw, oh and her other kits, would probably have heard it by now. At least she wasn't panicking as much as last time, the blue she-cat tried to reassure herself by saying that everything would be okay and the pain will only last a little while. Oh, how she would rather be facing the snake that killed Flamestar than flailing around helplessly in the heart-stopping pain.

Ravenpaw shook her head, thinking she was imagining her mother's painful cry. Her kits weren't due for awhile, perhaps it was just a cramp or something. Shaking that thought away, she grabbed a large stick and grabbing borage leaves, the two few things she knew for the birth of new kits. "Shadeheart...Lavenderheart...Kits..." the black she-cat muttered, loud enough for her mentor to hear before she walked towards the nursery, to calm her mother.

When Lavenderheart heard pawsteps coming in, she thought it was a badger of some sort, jumping back a bit. Letting out a sigh of relief, she noticed that it was only Ravenpaw, who had given her the stick to bite on. The borage leaves were lied on the ground, and she just waited. "Thank you Ravenpaw."

"It's nothing... Shadeheart would be here soon..." Ravenpaw replied, saying her first full sentence before turning her cold glance to the nursery entrance, wondering if Twistedfoot and her siblings would be coming as well.

Hawkpaw heard her mother yowl from just outside of the camp entrance. She rushed in and quickly over to the nursery. Squeezing in, she noticed that her sister, Ravenpaw was already there with a stick and certain leaves. She nudged her shoulder in affection and turned toward her mother. "Are you okay. Its going to be fine. I'll be here." quickly reassuring her and smiling. She licked the top of her head and lay down near her. She was going to have even more siblings! She would take care of them also. Being the oldest of the current liter, she felt most responsible for their well being. She would make sure the newest liter would have a happy life also.

Shadeheart heard Lavenderheart's cry. "Lavenderheart? I... I'm coming!" she shouted before racing out of her den. She arrived at the nursery with a stick and some borage, only to see that Ravenpaw was already there and had brought the exact same things. I have taught you well... she thought. "Ok... umm... Ravenpaw I think you can handle this but... I'll stay here just in case you need help or advice," Shadeheart meowed.

Twistedfoot had been sleeping on a rock - much like how the male members of his family seems to always be doing - when he had heard his mate's cry. He quickly awoke with a start, and watched as Ravenpaw, followed by Shadeheart, headed toward the nursery. Was the kits already coming? He hopped to his feet and hurried to the nursery and forced himself in, hurrying to the side of Lavenderheart. "Don't worry, I am here now!" Not like Lavenderheart would be worrying if he wasn't her but...Eh, let a tom dream won't you?

Smiling as she felt her eldest kit's comfort, Lavenderheart let out a sigh. Actually, she was a teensy bit curious as to where Berrypaw, Badgerpaw, and Cloudpaw were, but that was the least of her worries at the time. Clamping the stick into her jaws, the queen prepared for a long amount of painful and agonizing surges of tension. Everything will be alright... You went through this before, you can do this again... This will be alright, Twistedfoot, Shadeheart, Ravenpaw, and Hawkpaw were all here... It'll be alright!

The first surge came through and the blue she-cat pushed as hard as she could and out plopped a blue tom that looked a lot like her, except a lot more tail rings that varied in shade. Then, it was followed by a whitish-blue she-cat before another kit that looked an awful lot like Patcheye came out. Finally, a grey and white she-cat that slightly resembled Twistedfoot came out.

"Sisters... Brother... How nice... Congratulations..." Ravenpaw mewed after looking to Shadeheart who had come in here a tad bit later than she thought, but nonetheless was there to help her. Helping her mother with the borage leaves, the black she-cat thought about the names for the kits. However it wasn't her decision in the end.

Letting off a small squeak the small kitten, eyes and ears shut, shook quite a bit, her calico fur damp and flattened as she scrabbled slightly, though got nowhere.

Berrypaw had just come back from hunting and heard a commotion from the nursery. He set his prey down and hurried over. He knew his mother was about to kit but he wasn't sure. He wasn't a medicine cat after all. When he stepped in his thoughts were confirmed. But let out a sigh of relief that his mother was OK.
