Medicine Cat Meeting 9/26/2013

A cold, biting wind blew across the moor, flattening the yellowed grass to the ground. A heather broke away from it's roots, bouncing and tumbling across the flat ground. High above, the half moon shone with brilliant light, framed by the countless cats of StarClan that glittered and sparkled in the sky. The black mouth of a giant cave yawned in the side of the rocks, dark and looming, and the stench of thunderpath was everywhere and anywhere as the monsters roared down it's dark, black surface.

From the bushes appeared a pretty tortoiseshell she-cat, her green eyes flashing in the moonlight as she looked around at the empty moor. Following her was a young, handsome fluffy tom-cat, his own eyes glittering with starlight.

"Looks like we're the first ones here," Morningfur meowed to Lichenpaw as she padded forward, leaping onto a flat rock and settling down to wait. "I'm sure the others will be here shortly."

It was not long after that Swiftpaw pushed through the bushes. The little tom was near invisible and wouldn't have been spotted if it weren't for the shining white fur on his muzzle and chest, as well as his paws. He was tired and rather wary, having had made the long journey by himself without telling any of his Clan. "Hello! I'm not late, am I?" Despite the long walk, he was quite cheerful.

"Of course not!" Morningfur meowed, looking up at the moon. It was not quite high enough in the sky to have lit the moonstone yet. "We have plenty of time still. Let's just hope the others arrive before it is too late."

Mallowroot heavily padded up to Morningfur, letting out a yawn. Coming up to greet the two cats, he gave them a huge smile, and then a yawn. "Why are the meetings always so late?" he groaned, turning around to yell at his apprentice.
"C'mon, Hailstorm! We don't have all night to wait for yoouuu!"

Hailstorm panted reaching Mallowroot's side. "Oh I'm sorry!" He panted, and his pelt was burning up with embarrassment. "Forgive me!" He said, fluffing out his chest fur.

Morningfir let out a purr, smiling. "Now we just need to wait for Shadeheart and Ravenpaw..." she meowed.

Shadeheart arrived at where the other Medicine Cats and their apprentices were. "S...sorry I'm late. Ravenpaw should be coming soon," she meowed.

Mallowroot gave his apprentice a smile before dipping his head to Shadeheart. "Hello," he greeted, and gave them a smile. "I guess this is Hailstorm's first medicine cat ceremony with a full medicine cat name," he mewed happily, pride glowing in his eyes.

Hailstorm nodded. "And I couldn't of asked for a better mentor to train me." He mewed, his voice cheerful and happy.

Swiftpaw grinned a toothy smile, pleased to see his mentor. He hadn't realized Hailstorm was so young when he first met him. "Hi Hailstorm!" Swiftpaw bounced on the tips of his paws, barely containing his excitement. "I'm so excited, I can't wait to get started!" He glanced up at the moon, feeling like he'd been there for days.

The moon was slowly rising higher in the sky, almost at it's peak. "If we don't leave now, we'll miss the moonstone," she meowed. She leaped down from the rock, padding towards the Mothermouth. She pushed inside, and darkness instantly closed around her.

Mallowroot nodded, following the fellow medicine cat.

Hailstorm made sure to keep his pace with the others, and he followed shoulder to shoulder with his mentor.

Swiftpaw followed right after, keeping as close to Hailstorm as he could manage without actually touching him. The dark tunnel sent shivers down his spine, and he inched just a little closer to the ShadowClan tom.

OOC: So sorry it took me so long to post here! I was pretty busy...

IC: Ravenpaw, hiding behind a few shrubs, not wishing to meet the other medicine cats - oh wait, she already met them at the Gathering - not wanting to speak to them, waited for awhile as they left towards the cave. Looking up to the stars, the small black she-cat wondered why she felt more comfort in them than when she was with her clan. They seemed to help with her loneliness a bit. Resisting the urge to sigh, Ravenpaw saw that the others were already leaving towards the cave, so she blended herself in with the shadows - thanks to her black fur - and followed the others unseen. Closing her eyes, she used her whiskers to sense where she was going as well as the scent of the other medicine cats. One thought lingered as she kept her eyes closed - she would go to the meeting unseen and without being noticed.
