Featherpaw and Spottedpaw's Warrior Ceremonies

Dewclaw climbed up the Highrock. The view from there was simply amazing- something to look forward to in the future. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting!" Her voice rang out strong and clear. Today was a special day for two apprentices who had both been needing it for a long time.


OOC: If anyone needs their warrior ceremony, post and I'll add you on.

Spottedpaw trotted out of the warrior den, excited that she was finally going to become a warrior. She quickly groomed herself so she was presentable. She couldn't wait until she got her warrior name. She wondered what it was going to be. She couldn't wait to serve her clan even further than she could as an apprentice.

Featherpaw ducked into the ThunderClan camp, a squirrel clamped tight in her jaws. She listened to Dewclaw call a ceremony, and quickly set her prey down on the pile. Ever since the accident with Honeypaw, the young she-cat had never been the same. She ducked into the shadows and watched as the Clan piled out into the clearing around the High rock.

Spottedpaw noticed Featherpaw in the shadows and padded over to her. She knew that the she cat was still upset about Honeypaw. She nosed her shoulder and sat next to her.

"Spottedpaw, Featherpaw, please step forward." Dewclaw looked down at the two she-cats, feeling a pang of sadness for Featherpaw's loss. "I, Dewclaw, temporarily taking place of Mossstar, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon these apprentices. They have trained hard to learn the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turn." She addressed first Spottedpaw, making immediate eye contact. "Spottedpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Finally, it was actually happening. She knew what she had and wanted to do her whole life. Protect and serve her clan. To fight for them. The whole clan was her family, since, she had no siblings and her parents had passed. But that was behind her. "I do." They were such simple words, but they meant the whole world to her and she tried her best to let her emotions go into those words and show them to the whole clan.

Dewclaw could hear the sheer determination in her voice. "Then by the powers of Starclan, I give you your warrior name. Spottedpaw, from this moment you will be known as Spottedfeather. Starclan honors your grace and swiftness, and we welcome you as a full warrior of Thunderclan." The gray deputy bounded from Highrock, resting her chin on the new warrior's head. She then turned to Featherpaw. "Featherpaw, the whole of ThunderClan continues to grieve with you for the loss of Honeypaw, and commend you for your endurance. Do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Featherpaw blinked in surprise, glancing at Spottedpaw as she nosed her. All of a sudden, their ceremonies started. Stepping forward with Spottedpaw, Featherpaw forced a smile as her.. acquaintance received her name. Then she looked back to Dewclaw. She flinched as the tabby deputy added in Honeypaw, but she nodded. "I do." she said meekly.

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Featherpaw, from this moment on, you shall be known as Feathertail, for your energy and agility. We welcome you as a full member of ThunderClan." She rested her chin on Feathertail's head briefly and then backed away. "These two warriors shall sit a silent vigil for tonight. Dismissed." Deep inside, Dewclaw knew that Feathertail had changed, that she wasn't truly energetic anymore. She hoped and prayed that the she-cat would let it go; everyone experienced loss. Entire families were lost sometimes. It was not like Dewclaw was a stranger to death; she'd lost siblings- even her own mate. It was time for Feathertail to take care of the Clan that took care of her.
