Hunting Patrol

Silvershade sat in the shade of one of the tall trees in camp at around moonhigh, unable to sleep and just having finished grooming. The absence of her leader was beginning to get to her; a leader is necessary for a Clan to be successful, and said leader was currently cooped up in her den, only coming out to get food every now and then, not socializing or anything of the like. The apprentices she were mentoring would suffer as well; sitting around in camp without having any training. Then a thought struck her; she could take over Froststar's duties and train them herself. She had no apprentices currently-- other than Duckpaw, whose warrior ceremony was going to be either later that day or the next, she'd already spoken to Froststar about it. Standing up, she stretched briefly before walking over to the fresh-kill pile, examining its' contents. It was getting abnormally low for greenleaf. A midnight hunting patrol couldn't hurt. She padded over to the apprentice's den, prodding Lightpaw, Goldenpaw and Russetpaw with her paw. "Would you three like to go on a hunting patrol?" she inquired, more of a command than a question yet not being too stern about it.

Russetpaw's head shot up, his gaze blurry and filled with confusion. "Ah - uh. What?" He sputtered out, not haven't expected to be waking up so early. He shook his head clear and gave Silvershade a strange look. Wasn't Froststar supposed to be the one doing that? Oh, well. He supposed she was busy, with leader stuff. And things. The tom stood up and yawned, stretching out all over the moss. "Sounds great." He purred, the excitement beginning to spark in his chest. His first hunting lesson! He'd try his best and kick tail at it for sure!

Lightpaw looked up from her nap "Uh sure!" Lightpaw stood up and walked outside. She could use a hunt. But first she had to learn how.

Goldenpaw literally sprung to her feet; she was actually trying to fall back to sleep after being woken up by things outside. "Okay, Silvershade!" She wouldn't reject to someone else trying to mentor her; she was itching to train.

Silvershade blinked at the golden apprentice who'd leaped to her feet, and then replaced her look of confusion with a warm smile. "Okay then, you three. Come on, some time this moon."

Lightpaw walked out of the apprentice den. It was still dark. Lightpaw was a bit tired, but she would do anything to help her clan eat.
