Cinderpaw's Border Patrol

The moon was high in the sky as Nightcloud sat by the entrance of the camp. She watched the silver disk as it lit the ShadowClan territory in all of it's glory. She had a feeling that most of the Clans were asleep, but of course that is what made it the perfect time to go on a border patrol, you could walk the borders without worrying about seeing another cat from the Clans. Her yellow eyes flickered as she glanced backwards at the apprentice den, waiting for her young apprentice. She was a bit worried about training an apprentice with her being a fresh warrior, but she wasn't going to let Sagestar down. Cinderpaw was going to become the best warrior under her care and training.

OOC: Just saying, you only need one patrol, one or the other.

Cinderpaw padded out of the apprentice's den slowly, pausing briefly to stretch her stiff limbs. She approached her mentor with a bounce in her step and a smile on her face. "What're we doing today, Nightcloud?" She was really excited to finally be able to get out of camp; it was starting to get stuffy what with it being mid-greenleaf; it was ridiculously hot in camp during the day. She'd always dreamed of being a warrior as a kit, and now she was one step closer. Her eyes flitted up to the moon and Silverpelt above, and she wondered what it would be like to be a StarClan warrior. Not that she wanted to be one, of course. Life was great, as far as she knew.

Occ: Really? Cause most people...Eh; whatever. Border patrol it is than.

Ic: Nightcloud smiled when she saw Cinderpaw, getting to her paws. "Border patrol, Cinderpaw. Come on." She turned and padded from the camp, heading toward the Thunderpath and thus the WindClan border. Her gaze flickered in the faint moonlight as she glanced backward at Cinderpaw. "So, Cinderpaw, what do you think of life as an apprentice so far?"

She followed behind her mentor, almost having to slow down a few times. "It's great! It was starting to get stuffy in camp, it's nice to be able to leave," she replied, grinning. Damn straight.

"That's good," Nightcloud purred as they reached the Thunderpath. She halted not far from it, letting out a small cough from the faint smell of smoke that had manged to find it way from WindClan and across the deadly Thunderpath. "This is the Thunderpath and our border with WindClan. As you might have heard, monsters walk down these paths but lucky they almost never stray from it. That smell you scent in the air is mostly from the fire that happened in WindClan's territory about a moon ago." She let out a small gag, turning her head away as she gently covered her muzzle with her paw. "You always want to stay away from the Thunderpath, may cats have died not being careful."

"Didn't Cedarfur get killed by a monster?" she asked, innocence practically dripping from her words. The Thunderpath stank of smoke and exhaust; she wrinkled her nose in disgust, wanting to vomit. Twolegs must be crazy to put up with that, considering they apparently rode inside of the monsters that walked the Thunderpaths, from what she'd heard. Kittypets were crazy to even live amongst them, let alone eat the slop they call food. She kept her distance from the Thunderpath, staying near her mentor but still a few feet from the edge the whole way. The fumes were beginning to get to her, and she was practically desperate to run ahead to the next part of the territory.

A soft sigh came from Nightcloud as she nodded, turning and padding farther into the territory and away from the Thunderpath. She didn't want to be there any longer than she had too. "I'm afraid so. He was a good warrior, but I never got to really know him. However, you always have to be careful went you are near it. Never, ever, chance a piece of prey into the Thunderpath. We believe that is how Cedarfur died, seeing how we found a dead toad next to his body...Prey is not as important as your life," Nightcloud warned, heading toward Fourtrees and the ThunderClan border. What she disliked the most about the borders, was that they were surrounded on both sides by Thunderpath which made going places such more dangerous. She paused to glance at Cinderpaw, to make sure she was listening to everything she was saying. She didn't want her apprentice to miss anything importian. "We should be arriving at Fourtrees in a few moments."
