Darkkit and Nightkit's Apprentice Ceremonies

Sagestar padded out of the leader's den at sunset and made a quick, powerful leap up to the top of the Jagged Rock, ready to call the clan together. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here for a clan meeting!" He yowled.

It was time! Yellow eyes flashed from the nursery before Nightkit made her way out. Her cloak was nice and sleek; freshly groomed by her mother; not like she had really enjoyed it that much. She took large hops to where she wanted to sit, before sitting down and watched Sagestar with wide eyes, waiting for the rest of the cats to arrive. She couldn't wait until she got her apprentice name! She also couldn't help but wonder who her mentor would be. There were so many wonderful choices she could get! Maybe even Sagestar would train her...No; that was just a kit dream, and she was going to be an apprentice soon! She sat up as tall as she could, her fluffy tail wrapped around her paws as she attempted to look grown up; but the fact that she was wearing a silly grin pretty much just ruined the 'grown up' look she was going for.

The deputy's ears twitched, hearing Sagestar call a clan meeting. Remembering that two new apprentices, the future of her beloved clan, were getting their names and mentors. Her bright blue eyes parted open and watched cats gather for a few long moments. Nightwing had been laying in a quiet corner of camp, despite only having only one other warrior in the den with her. The she-cat hauled herself to her paws and joined her clan. Eyes flickered to the new apprentices, then back to her leader. The next generation was coming.

Darkkit smiled, stretching slightly. She padded to next to Nightkit, tiny pink nose in the air. She glanced at the kit next to her, looking like it was their first trip out the nursery. Darkkit didn't seem very excited, since she believed Shadowclan cats weren't so....happy and bouncy. Inside, her stomach churned. I will not mess this up. That'd be horrible, I would never live that down. her eyes flashed at the thought of someone insulting her because of a mistake. She snorted softly, sitting next to Nightkit. She'll need someone pretty excitable to keep up with her...maybe someone dull to rub off on her. Never know.

Sagestar peered down at the two young cats, although it may have appeared that his gaze seemed a bit judgemental, in reality he was relieved to see such young faces around the camp and expected much from these two sisters. "Nightkit. Darkkit. You have reached the age of six moons and its time for you to be apprenticed." He meowed, "Darkkit, from this day forth until you have received your warrior name, you will be known as Darkpaw. Nightwing will be your mentor."

He waited for the two cats to meet before continuing, "Nightkit, from this day on until you have received your warrior name, you will be known as Nightpaw." He had given some thought to this, "I will be your mentor." For reasons. Sagestar leaped down to greet his new apprentice.

Nightkit smiled as her sister sat down next to her, before her ears flickered as her name was called; along with Darkkit's. She got to her paws, padding forward she gazed at Sagestar as she awaited for him to call their mentors. She grinned when Darkkit...no, Darkpaw; got Nightwing. The deputy; how lucky! She glanced at her sister as she watched her before her name was called; her eyes brightened as she got her apprentice name. However; her mouth dropped open when she got her mentor. Sagestar himself was going to train her? She almost wanted to squee in joy; but she was able to keep herself under control as she watched Sagestar jump down to greet her. Nightpaw scrambled over to her Sagestar with her large grin; happily touching nose with Sagestar. "I'll be the best apprentice ever; Sagestar! Just wait!"

Pfft. The deputy? That was awesome! Now, she had a better mentor than any other cat- except Nightpaw, of course.Darkkit- paw, 'scuz me- smiled touching noses with Nightwing. "I'll do the best I can, Nightwing." then the new apprentice whipped around, stopping next to Nightpaw. "You are going to be a good apprentice, you know, but I am gonna be better." her eyes sparkled playfully as she smirked "Thanks, leader." She pressed against her sister, staring up at the leader for a moment before going to sit with her own mentor. Hope he trains her well...

Nightwing purred in agreement with her new apprentice. "You better." The deputy joked, touching noses. In a flash, it reminded her of Fallencloud. Who had recently passed. A heavy burden landed on Nightwing's sholders. She wasn't going to let that happen to Darkpaw. She tossed the feeling to the depths her mind, to be buried within the mass amount of thoughts. This was supposed to be a happy time, her blue eyes brightened, and followed her apprentice over to Sagestar. Her gaze went back to the nursery, where kits were almost ready to become full warriors. Knowing that she was going to have to train more then one, like Sagestar had done with her and Cedarfur, the deputy started to have her thoughts wonder to planning training. Blinking back to the others, "Darkpaw, why don't you grab something from the pile? We will patrol the border tomorrow." She said kindly. Knowing her first time out of camp, it was going to be tiring.
