| Yeah, yeah, I know what you are thinking. "Jay. No one likes your loud music. It disrupts my rocking chair sessions and evening prune juice consumption." Well, shut up! ;A; I love these bands, and want to tell you why. Also, I want an excuse to flaunt my music to you uncaring people. Also, on a side note, all of these bands have acoustics and ballads. I'll link them at the bottom of each of their descriptions. Now, if you are one of the few select people who want to read this...gem, as well as listen to these songs, proceed open minded wanderer. We shall begin. NUMBER FIVE- Spoiler:
CODEC- Discography:
Horizontime (2012)
Now. This band wouldn't have made the Top 5 except for one reason: The Lead singer is from the band that would have been Number Five. 32 Leaves was a band that realized 2 albums and were awesome, but I decided to pick active bands as the tie breaker between the two. I love them both, but 32 Leaves had more tracks to their name and therefore more things to love. Buuut, they died in a musical fire, so here is Codec. This relatively new band focuses on a more atmospheric feel than 32 Leaves, but their songs are still beautiful. It is basically all that guitar and crap, but hold on you mellow soothing people, look again! These songs have a nice, warm vibe to them at times. Codec also sounds old school, for any of you nostalgiafags. They offer some great tracks with some weird names, including "Notch", "Bifurcate", "Ciuin", "Aine", "Siochan", and the lovely "Gra." Going back to the old school junkies, who listened to people high on acids at every moment of their lives, don't these sounds like your kinds of songs? UNDER THE FLOOD- Discography:
The Witness (2007)Alive in the Fire (2010)A Different Light (2012)
Oh God, this band's vocals are beautiful. Like, the guy is talented and it is echoey in a beautiful way and armugawd ;A; No, seriously. This is the part of the list where a band is wonderful and you feel bad about putting them in spot four, even though it is out of the five best 5evr. Anyhow, this band has very great, soul filled songs without said songs having to have a throaty black guy. They have a nice, positive vibe. 8D I can't explain it. And I am lying, a lot are bawful. I-EXIST- Discography:
Worlds Away (2006)Within Imagination (2009)Humanity Volumes 1-4 (2012)
This band.... It is incredible. Each of their songs are beautifully written, catchy, melodic, and utterly fantastic. Well, except Worlds Away, I don't like that album too much. It is their beginner stuff, though, so I won't judge. Within Imagination is absolutely wonderful, but Humanity is where it is at. Everything down to the dates of their releases was simply perfect. Oh. Their? Humanity was a 4 part EP set released throughout 2012. They are known as, by their first tracks, "The Birth of Humanity", "The Age of Humanity", "The Fall of Humanity", and "The End of Humanity." And guess when the last one was released? December 21, 2012! It is just so cleverly set up, telling a story along the way, and the songs are utterly fantastic. Some of their songs are a bit hardcore for a lot of people's tastes, but I am sure a lot of you would like it. They are atmospheric alternative metal, with an electric sound mixed in, and I-Exist surely worked hard to exist.
