The sun was hidden behind iced clouds. Snow wasn't falling yet, but it would come soon. Numbed by her day, Frostleap padded into the camp, a skinny mouse in her jaws. She let it on he fresh-kill pile -poor with the leaf-bare- and choose a fish. The warrior sat in fro,t of her den and took a mouthful of her dinner. With the bad weather, every morsel of prey was a feast. Frostleap was so hungry she could eat a fox. When she finished her meal, the grey she-cat began a small wash.
