Duskkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Lionstar leaped up onto the Highrock, chin raised so the clan could hear his call clearly. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, join here beneath the Highrock for a Thunderclan meeting!" He yowled, tail tip flicking. Today was a special kit's apprentice ceremony, and Lionstar was happy to see the clan was growing well.

Mosspelt's black pelt appeared from the warrior den. He shook his fur, it poofing out, Too many cats! he thought, speaking about the crowded warrior den. He flattened his fur and sat below Highrock with a dip of his head in greeting to Lionstar.

Out of the nursery padded Dewclaw. Likewise, it had been too full with the arrival of the newly kitted Coldheart, with the addition of her ever-growing kits. But she was excited to hear of a new apprentice and sat down in her normal place close to Highrock.

Duskkit padded out of the nursery eagerly and sat next to Dewclaw dipping his head to Lionstar.

Morningpaw padded out of her newly upgraded den and took a seat next to her mother and younger brother. Nuzzling them both affectionately, before dipping her head at her mentor/leader and watched with excitement, being a young cat herself.

"Good morning Morningpaw. "Duskkit said when he felt his sisters pelt on his purring in happiness.

Embershade padded out of the warriors den, yawning. Another apprentice? She sat down next to Mosspelt, her former mentor. "Which kit is becoming an apprentice?" She asked.

Lionstar raised his tail for silence. "Duskkit, please step forward." He meowed from the top of the Highrock.

IC Duskkit got up from beside Dewclaw and Morningpaw then padded toward highrock and stopped in front of the thunderclan leader.

Lionstar nodded to the kit, raising his chin again to begin.

"Today we celebrate the ceremony of a kit becoming an apprentice. Duskkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and as custom it is time for you to become an apprentice." He announced, scanning the clearing. "From this moment on, until you have received your warrior name, you shall be known as Duskpaw. Mosspelt, the clan honors your courage and skill, and I hope you will pass on all you know to Duskpaw as his mentor." He finished.

"Duskpaw! Duskpaw! Duskpaw!" Dewclaw cheered on as she watched her last kit be apprenticed.

"Duskpaw! Duskpaw! Duskpaw!" Embershade cheered for the new apprentice.

Mosspelt stepped forward and touched noses with Duskpaw and whispered "We'll start training tomorrow"

Duskkit stepped back and nodded to Mosspelt then said "I'm glad that I'm your apprentice. I bet that you teach me so much that when you become leader that I'll be your deputy someday too."

Mosspelt chuckled and said "Maybe, go make your nest so you have a place to sleep tonight"
