Emberblaze padded out of the medicine den, stretching her legs and back. She approached the fresh-kill pile, sniffing it carefully before she picked up a vole. Ever since Silverstar had lost a life from a tainted squirrel, the whole Clan had been restless, but the Medicine Cat was most of all. Emberblaze laid down in the shade and took a bite. I can't help feeling it's my fault Silverstar lost a life... She thought. Emberblaze stared into space, as looking at something distant, beyond this world.
