Because he's not a very terribly complex or deep character and thus unlikable as a protagonist and a leader. Another reason people don't like him is because when you switch out a beloved well known character out of your franchise and into the background, no one is going to be nice to the new guy. There's a reason the Erins are starting their next series at the beginning of the Clans, there's nothing left to tell for the Clans future and because no one likes Bramble. D;
