Echopaw's assessment

Bluesky trodded into camp, with a mouthful of fish scales in her mouth. She continued to the middle of the clearing and placed
her frozen fish onto the frosty pile. Going onto the apprentices' den, she called for Echopaw. "Echopaw! Please come
out here for a heartbeat!'

Echopaw raced out. "What is it Bluesky??"

"Echopaw, why are you looking at me like that! The camp's not on fire, is it?" She mewed sarcastically.
"I'm here for your assessment!"

Echopaw' face lit like a lightning bug who remembered to turn on their light. "Really!?!?!" She started jumping up and down with excitment.

Bluesky nodded smugly. "Really." She watched her in amusement.

Echopaw calmed down and said "I'm ready now."

"Ok." She said. "Today you're going to be hunting by the river. I'll be watching you. Go back to camp by sunset. Ok?"

Echopaw nodded then started to head out. When she got to the river she instantly saw a stream of fish coming by and crouched down to catch one. She wippd her paw under the surface and caught th fish by a claw.

Bluesky nodded to herself from behind a pile of reeds.

Echopaw spotted a sqirrel in a tree, she sat and watched it for a while. When she thought she could do it he chased it up a tree and clawed at its tail, getting her claw hooked to it. It hit the ground hard on its spine. She put it with her fish, glowing with pride.

"Just a couple more..." She whispered under her breath, careful not to let her here her.

Echopaw saw a water vole and stalked it and caught and killed it with one swift bite to the neck

Bluesky looked up, the sun was starting to set. A couple more heartbeats... she thought.

Echopaw struck her paw under the water again and pulled out another fish.

Talk about a good hunter... She thought. She watched the sun's reflection on the water as it touched the horizon. Time to go
back... She silently padded back to camp.
