Sagekit and Mosskit's Apprentice Ceremonies

Shadowstar, after getting the two kits out of the nursery, jumped onto le rock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather underneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!"

Greyfeather walked out with a smile on her face with a slight limp in her steps.

Sagekit padded out of the nursery, wondering what it was that Shadowstar had called them out fur. "What do you think she wants with us?" he mewed to Mosspaw.

Mosskit murmured an inaudible reply as she silently followed Sagekit out of the nursery. Her heart threatened to thump out of its chest cavity, and blood was roaring through her ears. She absolutely despised Clan meetings. In fact, any event with more than two or three other cats made her uncomfortable. Her instincts were screaming for her to rush back to the nursery and curl up in the mossy recesses of the far corner. But she couldn't just disobey her Clan leader like that...

Shadowstar looked down at the two kits as she spoke. "We have gathered today to make these two kits apprentices. Sagekit, from now on until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Sagepaw, and Greyfeather will be your mentor. I hope she passes all she has learned down to you." She then turned to Mosskit. "Mosskit, from now on until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Mosspaw, and I will be your mentor."

Sagepaw smiled, silently celebrating his new apprentice name, but couldn't help but flick his flat ear. 'Greyfeather?' The she-cat who was captured by SkyClan because she was being mosue-brained? His dipped his head to Shadowstar in a quick show of gratefulness and spun around, padding forward to his new mentor. 'Well, alright. Shadowstar must have had a good reason.' His small self attempted to reach up to touch noses with her.

Mosspaw's heart skipped a beat. Shadowstar was her mentor? Mixed emotions coursed through her: embarrassed to have such an honor, mortified because everyone was staring at her, and excited to be an apprentice at last.
